Re: Mike Dean
Had the cojones to change his mind when he judged that he and the lino had screwed up. Fair play to him.
Though had it happened down the other end, we'd have been spitting feathers....

Re: Mike Dean
Today was his 23rd Burnley game since rate the ref started. Despite refereeing so many games, he still stands at the top of the pile. His performance at Wembley wasn’t his best by any stretch either

Re: Mike Dean
Anybody notice his “wave on” to the Cardiff player that went off following treatment in the first half?

Re: Mike Dean
He tried to let the game go today which on the whole was good to see. Maybe one or two tried to take advantage of this approach though.
Havent re-seen the so called penalty but its not often they change their minds

Re: Mike Dean
I've seen it and he got it spot on. He's the best ref and not coincidentally, also the strongest. Was glad he was the ref during the penalty incident because a weaker character might have buckled and made a different, wrong decision.

Agree. It would've been easy for a less experienced referee to go with the linesman and shun making an important but controversial call.claretspice wrote:I've seen it and he got it spot on. If all referees were like this we wouldn't want VAR.

Re: Mike Dean
Apart from the pen they should’ve had when Taylor brought down gunnarson, he had a good game.

The one where Taylor was pushed over by Gunnarsson and then played the ball on his way down?bobinho wrote:Apart from the pen they should’ve had when Taylor brought down gunnarson, he had a good game.

Apart from the obvious blip in the derby, he’s usually pretty good for us.
Also remember Blackwell before the playoffs coming out in the media moaning that Dean never gives them anything. That backfired in the final.
Then this week Colin does the same regarding refs in general. Probably the best ref we could have got, as above anything he isn’t swayed by media pressure

No.Rileybobs wrote:The one where Taylor was pushed over by Gunnarsson and then played the ball on his way down?
The one where gunnarson turned Taylor onto the wrong side meaning Taylor made two lunges for the ball and only succeeded in taking gunnarsons foot.
