Just done a quick calculation - another 8 rows of seats at the back of the Bob Lord (should be possible looking at google maps from above) would add approx 1500 seats to the stand - replace the roof with a new one to remove the stanchions and Bob's your uncle (and a stand!) not too much added capacity but a much improved stand for all that reside in there. Add that to a safe standing CFS with a new roof and we'd be talking a good capacity (somewhere around 26-28k) for the future.

Could even join the new roofs up to cover the corner in between (perhaps corner of seats for away fans - more standing for home fans), thats got to be possible - Dare to Dream they said ;)

Also would solve the screen visibility issue

Not without buying out the cricket club.

The view from the Bob Lord on Saturday was brilliant.

All that flag waving from the Bob Lorders, must have reminded them of when they had to walk in front of cars.

Is the terracing in there suitable for rail seats? May be a daft question, but do they have exactly the same footprint requirements?

Cars? New fangled rubbish. Better stabling, that's what we need.

Good point - no idea tbh... I was being a little facetious in regards to the fact that no one uses the seats now ;)

I’m perfectly happy with the way Turf Moor is now. It has character. Do you all want Southampton/Cardiff/Swansea identikits? Increase capacity - why? It’s not difficult to get tickets.

No one has suggested we turn Turf Moor into a soulless plastic bowl. There's no harm in upgrading the stadium to improve fan experience and atmosphere.

As long as you use soap washing your hands with cold water is also effective.

I pretty much agree with most of this and it looks a sensible plan, especially given that I believe the BL was originally intended to have more capacity and an extra tier anyway, so the underpinning should be sound. Plus I think we really should be looking to improve things, initially in the BL and the CFS in particular WITHOUT spending an absolute fortune, but whilst the going is good for us. However, I don't think we would ever need much more capacity than we already have. Maybe 22,500/23,000 (24 absolute tops). We could no doubt sell them all when we play the bigger teams, but when we don't, the more empty spaces there are, the harder it is to generate atmosphere and the crappier it looks on the tele. And then if you happen to go down, it becomes almost laughable. We have to be realistic and say we will never sell 30,000 seats or anywhere near that like Wolves, Brighton and Southampton can for example.
