All four teams to be relegated from the Vanarama National League ( Conference, in old money ! ) are now confirmed ...

Aldershot, Havant and Waterlooville ( Both Hampshire ), Braintree ( Essex ) & Maidstone ( Kent ) will all be relegated and all should go to the Vanarama League South, which should mean 2 sides get reassigned from that League to the Vanarama League North, which geographically may mean Oxford City & possibly St Albans ..

Does anybody else know better than me how this might work ??

They'll be looking forward to the Darlington and Blyth Spartans matches!

I’ve always found it odd myself, and unfair on the clubs suddenly having to incur more costs.

This season's National League North has 9 former Football League Clubs ( or their " Phoenix " successors ) as members ... Stockport County, Bradford PA, Kidderminster, Chester FC, York City, Boston Utd, Southport, Hereford FC and Darlington ...

I thought that but sky league tables are showing a line above the bottom 2 and a line above the next two. This normally implies playoffs.

Deffo all relegated. Oxford City and Gloucester have both played in the Conference North within the last 5 years but I know when they move them, they guarantee a certain period of time before they’ll move them back. Gloucester was the most recent move if I remember correctly.

No idea how they’ll do the split but going to be some long journey’s for the teams down there next season.

Probably no worse that maidstone to truro on a Tuesday night.

Likely 2 will simply be transferred across from one league to the other.

May also depend on the locations of the clubs that get promoted into North/South from the Northern/Southern/Isthmian leagues. If one of those is in 'border country' it may be them getting moved.

Having lived in Truro for several years in the 1980s I can assure you that ANYWHERE to Truro is a long way on any day! 40 miles the other side of fortymileville was an apt description I, co-incidentally, read yesterday (not about Truro but the US mid-west)

Kettering would make sense to move to the north group.

I used to produce the Bath City commentary in that league.

Gloucester City were in the Vanorama National North a couple of seasons ago, but because Eastleigh, Maidstone, the like were promoted over the seasons, they managed to get into NL South. If you look at the geography of the teams, it should really be East and West leagues if there needs to be a split. When travelling to the away games, i swear i was on the M4 then M25 80% of the games.

Oxford , Gloucester and Kings Lynn into the north division of the national league. Quite a way from Blyth!

Glossop North End must be p!ssed off, moved into the east division of the NPL. Mossley just up the road will play the likes of Droylsden, Ramsbottom and Trafford yet GNE will have to,play away at Wisbech in Norfolk!

There will be a number of appeals from clubs (usually is),

Oxford City is only 15-20 miles from Brackley Town (which is almost in Oxfordshire) and they already play in the National League North. I wonder how much it costs these clubs to travel for games. Must cripple some of them.

The FA/FL should be subsidising them. I have know idea if they do but these clubs are being put in this situation through no doing of their own.
