Everton have beaten Arsenal and Chelsea in their last two home games and held Liverpool to a draw in the previous one. They kept clean sheets in all three.

FWIW I can't see Brighton winning another game, however it would better if they scored three and won this one and then Cardiff lose vs Liverpool and its all done and dusted.

Both Blackpool and Blues with 39 points in 2010/11.

West Ham relegated with 42 points in 2002/3 (record).

Brighton might well be dogshit and their current form is absolutely appalling , but after tonight they will still have 5 games to find just 2 wins to pass us (unless we can get a point somewhere). It's our last 4 fixtures which are making people nervous imo, even given our "apparently" superior position currently.

And we’d have to not pick up a single point in all of that. The only team out of the two of us likely to do that is Brighton. They’re utterly on their arse.

Could we fly Dwight down to Brighton on an emergency loan for the second-half?

Just glanced at the score updates, before tonight in their last 8 games combined,Brighton and Cardiff have a total of 0 points, and people really think they are going to win 2/3 games on the spin each really. :)

Hilarious how people think a team who’ve got 28 points from 33 games and lost 6 of their last 7 are suddenly going to win 4 out of 5, including at least one against one of the best sides in the country.

Relax - Cardiff won’t get anywhere near us.

I do expect us to lose all of our last 4, yes.

I hope we get something from all of them of course. But do you seriously look at Chelsea away, City, Everton away and Arsenal and see anything for us there, realistically, by which I mean "it's more likely than not that we will avoid defeat today"?

Probably safe, but we will be looking over our shoulders.
I find it really difficult to believe that any Burnley supporter would want Cardiff to survive TBH.

I reckon an accumulator on us losing all 4 would return better than evens, so it’s more likely than not that we’ll pick up at least a point, even if a defeat is the most likely outcome for each individual match.

Balance of probabilities.

The bookies will expect us to lose. The pundits will expect us to lose.

Over 4 games it seems possible we'll pick a point or two up, but individually any objective assessment says defeat in each one is the most likely outcome.

So it would have been good to see the gap stay at 11 tonight. All I was saying. It's going to be 8, so I guess we just have to live with that and hope for the best... UTC.

Just like when you wanted Steve Cotterill to come here and beat us, just to rub our ungrateful noses in it, it would not surprise me if you’d be quite happy for your tale of doom to come true, so you’d be back on here to say, “I told you so!”.
You always were a tedious sod.

Clarets won’t be going down and we won’t lose all of the next 4 games either.

Chelsea away, City, Everton away and Arsenal...

Just remember, we picked up 7 points from those fixtures last season.

The list of relegatable teams each year seems to be shrinking (I don't see Wolves faltering next season).
BHA is a better squad than Cardiff. I would rather play Cardiff next year in the PL than BHA.

Both arseholes, but Cardiff losing suits us better, and we would be guaranteed safety sooner if they get beaten in their next two games.

We can lose our next 4 games 5-0 each and it won’t affect a thing.

Brighton are gone - will lose all remaining games (May draw with Newcastle, at most).

Fantastic!

There's a post on BHA's forum (seemingly) from a Claret- winding them up a bit. One BHA fan has responded (apparently in earnest) re how Brighton are a significantly bigger club than Burnley.
That just about sums up their mindset and why I hope they go down.
