When Cardiff play at United if they are still in with a shout they will play out of their skins against a United side who may not have a lot to play for, then anything is possible. If by some chance they do beat Liverpool then I suspect a few on here will be regretting their ‘come on Cardiff’ stance tonight.
And what about Brighton?

A Cardiff win tonight and its perfectly possible they could get wins vs Fulham, Palace and Utd on the last day of the season. Unlikely. But possible.

If Brighton then get scabby 1-0 wins vs Newcastle and Wolves, and lose their other 3, we will probably go down.

Do the belmtards cheering Cardiff tonight want to watch us lose to Arsenal on the final day whilst Man U v Cardiff is 0-0 in the 90th minute and a scrappy Cardiff goal sends us down....

No thanks.
Been watching football for years....Never seen a team win OR Lose on paper

Look, I think we’re okay, I have faith, but I would have been happier with a Brighton win. Cardiff would then have had to win all 4 games, simples. My argument is not really out of fear, it is shock at many who would rather see a team 250 miles away lose rather than putting relegation to bed. I don’t have a problem with Brighton or Cardiff but I would love to see Warnocks face on relegation day.

Personally I wanted Cardiff to keep Brighton nervous. I no longer see us as realistically involved. Yes it would be better being statistically safe and hence I can watch it unfold not really bothered either way... which I’d have taken a week or two ago.
Thanks for the info. Being an outsider, i dont have a historical reference... i will add to the two other things i learned about Burnley FC

Still say if tarks scored the sitter to make it 1-1 would have been a total different game.

This all reminds me of when we got promoted the first time under Dyche - I think we were 9 points ahead of Derby with 5 games to play and the nervous Nellies were saying "yeah but look at Derby's run-in, they could easily win all five and overtake us". We finished 8 points ahead of them.

BHA is a better squad than Cardiff. I would rather play Cardiff next year in the PL than BHA.
You may not be aware then that Warnock’s nickname is Colin W*nker (an anagram of his name). When you said you were “pulling for Cardiff” I made an attempt at a gag.

Brighton’s implosion has been spectacular. They must have been about 12 points clear of the bottom three at Christmas.

I really don’t see how they can bounce back after this. Although the game didn’t have he derby element, last night reminded me of the Blackburn game in 2010 during and after which relegation seemed inevitable.

Came across a tweet from that journo from the Brighton argus, the replies suggested meltdown on the south coast, last 3 home games scored 0 and conceded 8. Time for Hughton to go as he is a dinosaur etc. Some of it sounded familiar apart from the recent home record.

Confidence shot to pieces, can't pass the ball, the pressure is really on for them especially for the Newcastle game who weren't too shabby themselves at Leicester last Friday.

Is it too late for them to sack Hughton and hope that the “new manager bounce” can save them?

If it was the last game of the season and we were 3 points clear of both Cardiff & Brighton and they were playing each other some would be saying we still need a point.

The reason the word 'hate' keeps cropping up is that I read stuff on here about Brighton and that is all I see - the vitriol poured on that club on here amazes me so yes, I call it hate. Some of the stuff I've seen posted on here I would reserve for Rovers.

I'm gonna stick with you then bud. It's been a tough season but it looks like we will be okay (subject to an unlikely set of results). Let me know next time you are down, couldn't make it this time cos my wife's still in bits over her dads death at Christmas. I'm currently playing nurse, breadwinner and psychologist. Plus her sister is being an ass, I feel like thorwing her into the Milwall crowd with a West Ham scarf on. ;)

For all of you still worrying have a £30 bet on Burnley to be relegated at 325/1 and you could get just shy of ten grand !!!
That should make you sleep easier for the rest of the season.
Clarets stay up ,if not pocket £10,000 win win.

Dont worry about things you cant influence

If Brighton end their run and beat Wolves at the weekend and a fired up Cardiff get anything at all from Liverpool (yes, I know that's probably not going to happen) then we are absolutely right back in the thick of it - unless we get anything at Stamford Bridge.

We could have been on the beach if Brighton had won last night. I just wanted to relax with a beer last night at 10pm in the knowledge it was job done. I was gobsmacked to come on here and see Clarets fans cheering on the opposite, willing us away from safety.

Only a win for Cardiff against Liverpool will make any difference to us. A draw or defeat still means they have to win all their remaining fixtures.

What a depressing read.

Cardiff scored 2 and kept a clean sheet against a Brighton side who have forgotten how to defend, how to score, and are in free fall. It hardly makes them world beaters who are suddenly going to win 3 from 4, nor is there anything to suggest Brighton will suddenly remember how to score or defend enough to even win.

We've also hit form at the right time. I think the negative will be that we hand Liverpool the chance to overtake city.

Seeing as you ask, Crystal Palace were relegated from the Premier League in 1992/93 having been 8 points above the drop zone with only 3 games to play. Oldham under Joe Royle beat Villa, Liverpool and Southampton in their last three games to send Palace down.

Anyone cheering on a Cardiff win last night needs their head examining.

Man U
