Meanwhile in other football Barca have a pen, correctly, overturned but Dracula decides he’ll contest the drop ball in the area and the ref stands where Smalling has no chance to play the ball away from goal.
Messi 1-0 not related to the above incident.

Re: Brighton vs Cardiff
Really don't get why Burnley fans want Cardiff to win.
Lose all of our last 4 and Cardiff have a chance if they win tonight. Brighton have games in hand.
Safety for us first. Once that is confirmed we can relax about the other games. As it stands tonight we are being drawn a little closer back towards relegation, remote though that looks.

Re: Brighton vs Cardiff
Absolutely agree there. A defeat for Cardiff or even a draw would suit us tonight as then a defeat for Cardiff against Liverpool on Saturday would see us safe before we even start those last 4 fixtures. A win for Cardiff tonight and we're still vulnerable and as said, Brighton have an extra game in hand and are only 2 wins behind us with an almost identical goal difference. No way do we want Cardiff to win this.BobSykes wrote:Really don't get why Burnley fans want Cardiff to win.

Cardiff aren't going to catch us - they still have Liverpool and United to play - but they might catch Brighton if they win tonight.
Who do you want in the PL next season? Cardiff could well emulate Huddersfield, especially with the Sala ramifications still hanging over them. Every chance Brighton can find a way to sort themselves out to the extent that they'll be survival contenders and therefore potential competitors.

A Cardiff win tonight and its perfectly possible they could get wins vs Fulham, Palace and Utd on the last day of the season. Unlikely. But possible.
If Brighton then get scabby 1-0 wins vs Newcastle and Wolves, and lose their other 3, we will probably go down.
Do the belmtards cheering Cardiff tonight want to watch us lose to Arsenal on the final day whilst Man U v Cardiff is 0-0 in the 90th minute and a scrappy Cardiff goal sends us down....
No thanks.

There's every reason why the best result for us would be a Brighton win, not least because we may then be able to try a few things with next season in mind.

Holy ****, how do some of you make it through the day without fear of being hit by a bus, or a meteor hitting you or a being murdered by a creepy clown?
Why is only between us, Cardiff and Brighton, anyway? What about Southampton (below us), Newcastle (below us) or Palace (level)?
We're well safe, unruffle your fannies.

I really cannot understand the pessimism about not picking many points up by some on here. Yes we have some big teams to play but we are superbly confident all over the pitch at the moment so I don’t fear anyone.

Re: Brighton vs Cardiff
First and foremost I was US in the Premier League. Other than that it really doesn't fuss me who goes down and who comes up. After the Euphoria of last Saturday we have to realise that it wouldn't take an absolutely unheard of sequence of results to suck us down, especially with our goal difference which is significantly better than only Cardiff's and which could well take a battering in the last 4 games.EarbyClaret wrote:Cardiff aren't going to catch us - they still have Liverpool and United to play - but they might catch Brighton if they win tonight.

Why are we likely to lose to Everton for example who are no better at home than the likes of Bournemouth?BobSykes wrote:We are more likely than not to lose our last 4 fixtures on paper.

Re: Brighton vs Cardiff
Rather nice to read on " North Stand Chat " a rather heated arguement whether Chris Houghton is the man capable of " Doing a Dyche " next season, by which they mean, getting promoted back to the EPL at the first attempt !!
BTW, if we're still interested in Dale Stephens, it might be worth a cheeky bid at around 9.45pm tonight, most of the posters on there want him shot after his 1st half performance !!
Update: Popping back there now, at 0-2, it's about to get even funnier !!

Re: Brighton vs Cardiff
Look, I think we're probably safe.
But having battled relegation all season and seen us go 11 clear with 4 to play, I find it unfathomable that some Clarets want to pull that back to 8 tonight for reasons that escape me. Especially as Cardiff have winnable fixtures left.

Very rarely comment but good god! I took Brighton. At 7/1 when bookies were offering us at 7/2,utterly mental odds. I think at the time they hadn't won in 11. Seen nothing since to change my mind. As to us going down, really don't know what people are watching. I know the game is opinions but there is no where to think we are not going to get another point. I actually think we are going to win the title for Liverpool. Nobody is mentioning City's game at Burnley but I really feel we have entered a really good period of form and just see us snatching a point or better, would be typical Burnley. As to Brighton, they have been dogshit for months

Re: Brighton vs Cardiff
Both Blackpool and Birmingham went down with 39 points in 2010/11.
Record is held by West Ham who went down with 42 points in 2002/3.
