Holidaying to Turkey ?
I've heard from a couple of people now that Duty free staff at the Turkish Airports are telling returning British travellers that they are permitted to bring up to 900 cigarettes each, under " new arrangements " ....
The allowance is 200 cigarettes each, they don't care if they are taken off you on arrival in the UK ! They are just trying to increase sales. At c.£30 for 200 Marlboro Gold, compared to say £117. in the UK, it may look tempting but just be warned, folks !!

Re: Holidaying to Turkey ?
How do you bring 900 back when they are sold in multiples of 200?

I take it nobody just fills their case with fags to get a free holidays worth anymore?
We used to fit 50 sleeves or so in the case and book on the returning night flights, so hardly any security on.

Haven't smoked for 19 years ... fags used to be 3,000,000 lira (till they removed the zero's in Turkey for 200 fags) for 200
Re: Holidaying to Turkey ?
I came back from Turkey yesterday, Antalya airport, no pushy staff selling excess amounts of fags. I purchased 500g of tobacco (twice my allowance) and on the plane purchased 2 litres of gin, again twice my allowance, I am not Howard Marks and the customs people are not interested in me or you
