A bit off topic, but cricket related. When did Lancashire League expand the number of teams, and what was the reason for expansion?

I have fond memories of attending Lancs League games back in the day. I saw all the top professionals such as Wes Hall, Charlie Griffiths, Lance Gibbs, Conrad Hunte et al.

Good times.

The major restructuring took place last year with the addition of teams from the Central Lancs League and elsewhere, not sure on the reason but travel distances have gone up. Great Harwood to Middleton is quite a trek.

The official word was to strengthen the league. I think the gap between top and bottom had got so large they needed two divisions.

Colne winning says a lot about the need for the split tbh, or does that feel harsh?

The game lasted 7 overs? And Milnrow scores at 10 an over whilst being bowled out at the same time?

That's exactly what it says on the scorecard from the app. Complete with bowling figures. Bracewell hit bowler Paul Cragg for 6 successive sixes in the first over. Bye first ball of 2nd over followed by 3 sixes and a single.

Enfield's " Twitter " feed reports an 8 wicket win for Enfield, after they chased down 182 .... same result, although rather more prosaic !! :D

Well if the Play cricket app score is a hoax, someone has gone to a lot of trouble to input a lot of data. Just checked again still saying same result.

The forth six actually stopped an armed robber getting away as well. Went through a car windscreen and knocked the getaway driver out.

I'd be betting one of Adam Bracewell's mates has got hold of the password for reporting the scores, and has had a bit of fun with it !!

Good win for the mighty Colne to start the season! Great to see a decent crowd on the Horsfield for a change as well.

Amazing what a bit of good weather will do. £340 gate, which for the first game of the season is probably a record - and the bar looked like it was doing pretty well, too!

Big crowd down at Lowerhouse yesterday saw a good game between two good sides.

Great to see so many people attending a league game and enjoying the weather and the facilities.

The weather brings folk out but engaging with the community on social media reminds them that the club is there when the sun is shining.
