I’ve often wondered why I’ve never seen anyone try this at corners. Would it be against the rules? I don’t think so. Obviously using a head rather than hands!

Would that be the same if a defender allowed a goalie to climb higher for a cross by allowing his own body to become a sort of stepladder?dsr wrote:It used to be specifically in the rules that leaning on a teammate to gain height was ungentlemanly conduct and punished by an indirect free kick. I don't know if it still is, but I'd be surprised if they had deliberately taken it out.
In theory, yes. I can't imagine it would ever be called, though; or that the defence would have time to pre-arrange it.Spijed wrote:Would that be the same if a defender allowed a goalie to climb higher for a cross by allowing his own body to become a sort of stepladder?
Remember that Ernie Hunt/Willie Carr free kick for Coventry way back? wasn't there speculation about it's legality but it was given.Hipper wrote:It used to be known as ungentlemanly conduct. It certainly would not be allowed.
