A Burnley Lad who's always caught the eye as a Good footballer hope he gets to the premier league at the expense of Leeds...must have gone under the Radar at turf moor .

Won promotion to the Premier League twice but never actually played in it. Let’s hope third time lucky.

After watching the Sheff Utd game today I had a look at his Wikipedia page and found he's twice won promotion to the Premier League but almost immediately been transferred back to a Championship club. Hope he gets his chance to play there next year.

Edit - Winston beat me to it :D

We had a chance to sign him when he went to Huddersfield I think - it was near the start of Dyche’s reign and his agent contacted us and we weren’t interested...he wanted to come.

I think he would be a good addition

No better than what we already have. We really need to do all we can to find the best centre mid we can afford this summer, someone who is good enough to walk into our starting XI.

Probably one of the best players in the championship, but he wouldn’t improve the first 11, he’s a better passer than anyone in our side but I’d still rather have Westwood and you couldn’t play both of them.

I agree with your sentiments. I’m just struggling to name one who fits the bill and who is in the right (our) price bracket.

The player you describe I imagine would cost £30m +.....

You got anyone in mind, along with a fee we would pay?

We have to keep looking in the Championship. There’s definitely talent there surely?

Taylor has come on brilliantly this season. And one the most impressive players I saw this year at Turf Moor was Nathan Redmond who although he had only just been relegated with Norwich, ultimately he was a championship player who cost just 10 million.

I'm hoping with our new technical director we might be looking a bit further afield than the Championship this summer. Watford signed that Doucoure from the French league for relative peanuts.

I’ve watched a few Toronto FC games this season, Rigg could do with taking a look at TFC attacking midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo. I know it’s difficult to gauge the standard of play in MLS, but this guy really stands out. TFC signed him from Genk in Belgium, he also has PL experience with Swansea,

That’s the skill in scouting across different leagues, levels and ages.

‘Championship player at best’ with 230 Premier League appearances.

Championship player at best  as are most of our players, but put them in the right 11 and they hold their own.

Really hope he proves a lot of fans wrong next year, I know he has the ability

He's come in as a designated player though, I seem to remember seeing that he was on ¬ $100k a week. Not really a cheap option (and I've got to say that when I went to see Toronto FC they weren't great. Isn't Jozy Altidore their star player?).

Fair point mate. I was completely underwhelmed when we signed him. Last season he played out of his skin and this season his good games have been few and far between.
At both Southampton and Swansea he appears to have drifted in and out of the team and would have done here this season but for our lack of Central midfielders

Exactly, didn't Leicester sign Kante for under £6m a few seasons ago?

I’m sure he’ll get his chance next season, he’s very popular at Sheff United and Chris Wilder will not be buying a new side if they win promotion next month.

We missed out at the time for Norwood, but not sure he would add too much to the prem next season.

The same Cork bashers used to slag Westwood and indeed Marney off until they actually watched the games in an unbiased way

Yes sir, you are correct, Pozuelo was signed as a designated player and, according to reports, is on a salary of around 100,000 USD/week which equates to around 77,000 GBP/week. A little out of reach as far as Burnley are concerned, although, again according to reports, the transfer fee was in the $11 million USD range, about 8.5 million GBP. The other designated players are Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore, apparently both making more than Pozuelo. TFC’s 3 designated players are, according to reports, the highest paid in MLS, due to far higher taxes here than US.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is quality players are available in the lower European leagues, it takes a little digging and establishing a network.
