Chorley v Stockport
Big game today at Victory Park home of Chorley, the winners most likely to go on and gain promotion to the National League itself.
I see Lancashire Police decided this game needed to be all ticket, due to the large travelling contingent from Stockport (cough cough).
Good to see a slight renaissance in football in Stockport, but nevertheless come on Chorley!!!!

Re: Chorley v Stockport
Would be nice if BFC sent a few creates of beer into the Chorley dressing room and sour wine for the Stockport lot
Re: Chorley v Stockport
Steady on,far from over yet.
The final 2 fixtures look more favourable for Stockport.
Chorley have to play 2 teams who are in the play-offs and Stockport play Curzon who are 17th and their final game is at Nuneaton who have finished rock bottom.

Looked at the league table, not sure if it's updated yet as Stockport are top.

Re: Chorley v Stockport
Dont know what the cough cough is about. Stockport sold 1300 tickets. Complete sell out and chorley bossed it from start to finish. Chorley can now win the league with a draw and win from last two games.
Stockport god bless em (and im over 50 so did the stockport years) are a football league club.
Chorley are part time, the manager a primary school head teacher. No money just a well run club. Ive been 4 or 5 times this season including today and its always a good day out.
Well done chorley.

Re: Chorley v Stockport
You have my admiration supporting a local club like that. Used to do the same at Rossendale Utd, sadly it did nothing to help dodgy business men but that’s a different story.steve1264b wrote:Dont know what the cough cough is about. Re: Chorley v Stockport
Hopefully Chorley finish the job and Stockport play Altrincham in the play-off final. Would be fantastic for Alty to break their County hoodoo of recent times infront of the Edgely Park masses !

Re: Chorley v Stockport
Same rule in the National League too. Football League considered bringing it in at one point but the Premier League said there was no way they would accept the team finishing 8th in the Championship.EarbyClaret wrote:How do the play-offs work in National League North/South - on the BBC table looks like it's 6 teams who qualify

Re: Chorley v Stockport
If anyone's at a loose end, Altrincham v Hereford United today 3pm ko. Gorgeous day in Altrincham with the bonus of being able to watch the game with a pint of San Miguel in hand.
Re: Chorley v Stockport
In todays penultimate matches Chorley lost 1-0 at Spennymoor,Stockport won 2-0 at home to Curzon..
Stockport now one point clear and their final game is at Nuneaton who have finished rock bottom by some distance.
Chorley are at home to Bradford PA who need to win for a potential play-off spot.

Must of been a late goal to sink Chorley, I was keeping an eye on the result (sad I know). At least dirty cheating weeds are getting beat. Will always take a positive
