It started (from what I've seen) yesterday with football legend Jermaine Jenas saying MUPLC had made the wrong choice appointing Solskjær. I don't know where he was when they won in Paris.

But there will be floods of Hindsight Champions coming out of the woodwork today agreeing with him.

I detest the club and am enjoing their failure today and during the week but these "experts" are sickening.

There seems to be lots of problems at United. OGS did a good job I guess in and steadying the ship. However what’s he got on his cv managerial wise to warrant a 3 year contract? That said as long as he can steer United to a win on the last day of the season he’ll do for me.

Revisionism is the only thing that makes him a suitable appointment.

Sure I've heard that somewhere before...

They have had two world class managers with outstanding CVS as there last two managers look how that has gone, id love someone to call the players out and show them for the overpaid overhyped average footballers they are.

I'd actually say defensively Man City aren't much better. It's just that teams rarely get the chance to attack Man City's defence because of their world class midfield and strikers, but when they do like Spurs did in the CL, it looks very fragile.

No issue with any pundit criticising Solskjaer as long as they were criticising it at the time.

Souness nailed it when he said that there was no established pro for the others to look up to, nevermind take guidance from. Pogba seems to be de facto leader. He's just a rotten personality who is nowhere near leadership material and would be the first to go if it were down to me, no matter how much ability he has.

Liverpool had Gerrard and now Milner, possibly Salah.
Man City have had plenty like Yaya Toure and probably now Aguero.
Chelsea had Lampard / Terry and now have Hazard but are arguably suffering from the same.
Man United had Giggs and now have... Pogba?

The United squad is fairly average on the whole. When you see City and Liverpool have raided the PL for established players such as Van Dijk, Mane, Robertson, Walker, Stones and Sterling - it's easy to see why they are doing well.

When your best players are Pogba (who can throw a strop at any given moment) and a Sanchez who's been off the boil for nearly two years, you're always going to be in trouble.

I totally agree with you. But it took somebody with the courage to say it during the whole OGS love-in.

I've got not anything against the bloke himself. He did radically change the situation but, if anything, it want too well. We know the majority of "Manchester United fans" know little about football so for them he HAD to be given the job. And even though the decision-makers at OT almost certainly had doubts about the long term, there was such a groundswell of support for Solskjær they caved in to the pressure. Fortunately.

City will run riot on Wednesday.

A very passionate manager who hinted that (most of) the players he has in his team that he has now, isn't anything like he wants and aren't good enough. I agree. He needs a couple of seasons to get the team he wants, like all managers need.

OGS seems like a decent guy but it’s hard not to enjoy Man Utd’s recent implosion. Having said that I’d shudder if I saw the Burnley lineup announcement with a centre half pairing of Smalling and Jones.

Exactly don't forget even Pep needed a season to attune to the English game,City won nothing in his debut season,far too many bad eggs in that Utd dressing room for any manager to succeed.

I was listening to Graeme Souness and he was spot on - their players are lazy and don't fight for the club and their shirt. They lose it? So what? They'll just walk or slow run and they do the same when they're supposed to be defending as a team. They can't be arsed.

Which brings me back to my thoughts on when I saw Ole's post match interview - he knows this. He can see it. Jose knew this. It's not all about the manager, the club needs to get rid of some of their players.

The gist of it was that Manchester United fielded a first team with a back four that would not displace any of the current Burnley back four. Putting aside whether or not that is arguably true, that’s quite a thing to behold as a long time Burnley fan who has spent most of his time watching his team in the Lower Leagues.

As for Solskaer; I’m sure he must be heartened by the Fans reaction to him yesterday. He’s got a mammoth task ahead of him sorting out that shambles of a team. At least it looks like the Fans will give him the time to do so.

I think analogy with our defence is spot on.

City lost 4-0 at Everton in his first season and needed to spend a lorry load to sort his side out. A side already with Aguero, Silva, Fernandino, Kompany and co.

I’ve no idea what Ole can do. 3 of the back 4 that started vs Barca in midweek played when Utd lost vs Basel in 2011. They need a defence, and a midfield. Pogba has got to go. He’s talented and if they bought well he would be a huge asset but just get him out the club asap.

Bid massive for De Ligt from Ajax. And make him captain. Same with with Declan Rice.

If I know Ole like I think I do then he will heed your advice! It wouldn’t do him any harm over the summer to pick up the phone and chat with Pep, Rafa and Sean.

Don't forget this is a United side who had the lowest running stats earlier in the season. And it's not like they had the ball all the time either, under Mourinho they were very much a defensive side.

The attitude of their players really does stink to high heaven, epitomised by the odious Paul Pogba.

So in essence, Jose was right all along?

I think most managers prefer to sign their own players rather than being lumbered with big name signings to sell shirts. This is where I think Jose was thrown under the bus, because he didn't want them. Ole might actually get his way because the fans love him.

10 games was far too early to claim him as the new messiah
20 games is far too early to right him off.

I think he'll be fine in the long run, but it will probably take at least 5 or 6 transfer windows to get anywhere near City. Sometimes all fans can do is see the bigger picture and show patience.
