The difference is half a billion others, beneficially trading and assisting, versus, 'Alone'.
The half a billion others, beneficially trading and assisting, hasn't done much for the rest of Europe.
The strongest economy in Europe is Britains, even whilst run by a pack of self interested loons. If you want to leave that to join a sinking ship, so be it.
Seriously, economies rise and fall like tides, but you cant carry dead weight that will ultimately drag you under. An independent Scotland will be lumped with the Irelands, Spains and Italy as a net taker, not giver. In those circumstances there is no guarantee they would even want you. Add to it they cant agree a border on Ireland, a border on mainland Britain would cause even more problems.
I think it's all pie in the sky, but I wouldn't hold back from Scots determining their own future
