What was the split? As it was also 10 seconds from Ledley King.

"The striker won possession and lifted the ball over Ben Foster to score after just seven seconds."

Press Association says 7 - getting faster

Watford kick off, played it back to Cathcart who took an age to boot it forward (well few seconds), Long charged it down, ran in on goal and dinked it over Foster

BBC are saying 7 seconds but are also saying that opta are claiming it’s 6 seconds. Can anyone use a stopwatch correctly these days?

So we started with 10 seconds and we've got down to possibly 6. Do I hear 5 anybody? *bang* It's to him at the back. 5 seconds.

The own goal by Kruse in the 90s was timed at 6 seconds! Think it was for Torquay.

Well, I’m shocked! I felt sure the Yanks would time the goal at 5 seconds, after all everything happens quicker south of the 49th parallel. ;)

If ‘Frump’ had his druthers, he’d probably say……….“never happened….fake news”.

Since Long had covered an as-the-crow-flies distance of 45m, he would need to be faster than Usain Bolt to do it in 6 seconds. Bolt takes a fraction over 5 seconds to cover the first 45 metres of his fastest races, but he doesn't stop at half way to jump and block a ball, he doesn't do a little spin meaning he runs backwards for a stride, he doesn't run in wiggly lines, and he doesn't jog a few steps at the end after kicking the ball. 6 seconds is nonsense.

The Youtube clip I can find shows 7 and three quarter seconds on the timer bar when the ball crosses the line, and the clip starts just after the kick-off. It took 8 seconds.

I saw us concede at Old Trafford in 1984 after 18 seconds and we kicked off, Robson curled one into the top corner past our Roger. Shane Long has taken it to another level last night.
