Hotel for my elderly dad to go away to scotland/scarborough etc

Post by claretnproud » Wed Apr 24, 2019 5:52 pm

My dad is a fairly lively 80 year old and recovering from a recent hospital stay. He fancies a week away in a b and b or hotel. Perhaps Scotland or scarborough etc. Somewhere that would give him a single room deal at a fair price. Any recommendations appreciated.

There's plenty of coach holidays that cater for the elderly ie Shearings, Saga etc. If you Google coach holidays.
Unless of course at the age of 80 he is still independent, then I take my hat off to him.

I like Strathmore hotels. They've one in Grange over Sands, over if he's not driving (or being driven) they have hotels in Oban and Fort William which are more or less next door to the railway station.

May breaks £165 for 3 nights, £195 for 4 nights, dinner bed and breakfast, sometimes available with no single supplement.

Or try Alfa holidays. They do coach or self-drive, and my mother visits the Scarborough hotel most years. Not sure about spring/summer prices, tohugh.

My parents used to like going on the shearings holidays, even though my dad was still driving, because they met new people and there were organised trips.
