Been twice

Its lovely

Boat trip to the lagoon for the hot springs and the temples in the cliff is a must

if you can be bothered, a two day trip to Ephesus and Pomokole (spelling) is well worth it

If it's still there, go to Natalie's steak house.

Turkey is a fabulous place to go on holiday. Great weather, great food, great hospitality and great places to visit. Exchange rate is still very favourable after the spike last year. Enjoy.

I like Turkey. Can recommend Olu Deniz - lovely place, and you can legitimately have a donner kebab for your tea every night

Blackpool with sunshine !! - John Smith's smooth & fish n chips but if that's what floats your boat then its fine. Watch out for greasy bartenders if your partner is half-decent, mine isn't & was oined to death. They see women as a passport to freedom which is better than selling lemons out of a horse drawn cart during the winter months.

Other trips are Saklikent Gorge and you can do white water rafting there its very good .... but definitely recommend Olu Deniz ... we have stayed at the Majestik hotel there 3 times, its near enough to walk to the beach and the night life but quiet enough to avoid the booze hounds :D and as mentioned great doner kebabs...

Parts of it are very much like Blackpool. That said, the surrounding seas are beautiful and a boat trip is well worth it. I seem to remember one of the boat owners being called Captain Bullshi1t. We didn’t choose his offering.

We have been to icemeler for the last few years which is a 20 minute walk on the front from marmaris, it is a very English resort but the scenery of the area is lovely, the Turks are nice people , they do bother you to go in places but just have a laugh with them , you will love it

Went to Marmaris in August 2016 and I was surprised how quiet it was. The famous Bar Street was deserted at around 11pm. Beaches were empty and restaurants were quiet. Mind you they had just had the failed military coup. :?

Been all over Turkey and Marmaris personally was my least favourite place.

I like Fethiye and Kusadasi as you can get hotels away from the hustle and bustle and relax in the sunshine for next to nothing.

Visited Marmaris 10 years ago when I stayed in Icemelar. I personally would not want to stay in Marmaris has it was very over crowded, dirty and commercialised.
I personally didn't like the Turks I found them extremely two faced and money grabbing, we always got badgered when we walked past a bar or restaurant

On the plus side the bars at night or a good craic, the Turks put on a great show such has setting fire to the bar top, dancing on tables etc
