Re: WERE SAFE!!!
Let’s pick up a few more points. Remember every position is worth another £2million.

Re: WE'RE SAFE!!!
Question is whether the players now go on holiday mentally, as we often seem to do once things are sorted, or whether they go out and give their everything against City, Everton and Arsenal knowing we can't go down whatever the results.

Re: WE'RE SAFE!!!
When we were doing really badly, (i.e. after our trouncing by Everton), I think that few of us were saying that we would have to try to get about a point a game and scramble to about 32/33 points, and hope that the bottom 3 would be bad enough to to keep us up. As it turns out, despite all the worries and having actually achieved 40 points it looks as though 32 might have been enough.
(Looking back, 33 with a good goal difference would have been enough last season, and it's now looking similar).

With the extra place money apparently paid back to the players in bonuses, hopefully not. I’m quite happy for them to be greedy, money-grabbing mercenaries in this situation.bfcmik wrote:Question is whether the players now go on holiday mentally, as we often seem to do once things are sorted, or whether they go out and give their everything against City, Everton and Arsenal knowing we can't go down whatever the results.

Time to also acknowledge that some of the levels we’ve shown since Boxing Day have exceeded what we saw last season. Can’t think of a display last year that was as good as Spurs in February.
From dead set for the drop to safe with 3 to spare...madness. Feels like two separate seasons honestly.

For the most part, we’ve been very good since the Everton trouncing on Boxing Day.

Re: WE'RE SAFE!!!
If we could gain 3 or 4 places that would be around £6.5M to be shared out in position bonuses. Assuming all the 25 squad members get equal shares then that is around a £1/4million. Sounds like a lot but, to the top earners at the club (who are most likely to be, mainly, the ones playing the 3 matches), that equates to roughly a months wages!TheFamilyCat wrote:With the extra place money apparently paid back to the players in bonuses, hopefully not.
