#Headsup promotion from the FA on Saturday for the FA Cup 3rd Round...
Huge deal between the FA and Bet365 fir future FA cup games...only if you sign up and bet with the company. No morals. It stinks.

Re: Club statement: Zero tolerance
Huge Deal? Unlikely to be so I'd say. If a bookmaker is buying the streaming rights it's unlikely to be a huge deal. Probably shows where the fans / tv companies see the competition in terms of interest. Lots of Burnley fans wanting to see the team play a more attacking style, but only 8,000 turned out for the game at the weekend. Meanwhile Liverpool played a youth team in a fierce local Derby. Unfortunately the cup isn't what it once was. Mainly because of the huge deals that were done to put it out of the hands of the public on pay TV.

£3.1m per year they were sold for. Although not directly to the bookmakers.

So a syndicated stream of action picked up by bookmakers. Not really a huge deal, not really one that's going to affect the availability of it, and one that shows that nobody else was interested in picking up the streams if they go for less than clubs receive for a single champions league game.

I’ve been reading most of the posts on this thread & I agree with the essence of the content, it’s just easier to accept it & detach yourself from it. It’ll always be part of the game it’s so money orientated. It’s so accessible without it being promoted I wouldn’t necessarily contribute the exposure as being conclusive towards a potential addiction, not in all cases anyhow.

A few years on and felt like bumping this…the club are not getting everything right but I do feel praise should be offered on clear improvements….
The club aren’t making fundamental errors like they have in the past, by posting gambling endorsements alongside important messages about the likes of mental health (the nature of this thread).
Indeed, gambling endorsements are far less commonplace online now.
Then we have the shirts…I’m sure we’ve lost revenue by moving away from a gambling firm but I really hope the club see the good on this and that they’re managing to shift a good number of shirts.
There’s still the gambling endorsements on training wear and on the adverts around the ground BUT it’s a start. So thank you BFC. I hope with time, education around the possible harms that gambling can cause, will be improved.
EVERYONE….PLEASE KEEP TALKING ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH AND REMEMBER TO ASK THOSE AROUND YOU AT LEAST TWO TIMES, IF YOU THINK THEY MIGHT NOT BE OK!!
I’ll leave you with my Birthday mugshot. Today, I received a BFC shirt from my wife…she wanted to buy it for me and she knows I’ve not had many BFC shirts in recent years, due to my stance against gambling firms.
It feels good!

No, but probably confused due to the fact that the neighbours are always in Leeds attire! 🫣
