Quite a few spots in the Peak District thatbisnt too far a drive from there.

We did the Limestone path over a couple of days and camped near Buxton.

The M6, Monday morning any time from 06:00 onwards is usually an excellent camping spot!

There's a campsite very near to the theme park that you would drive past if you went the route past Stokes's ground.

If you go on ukcampsite.co.uk there’s a campsite finder with a map search there’s a few quite close with good reviews.

Have stayed in a cottage just down in Alton before as well. Just bear in mind Alton Towers is not a place to walk to from nearby accommodation, narrow windy country lanes with no footpaths and lots of knobs behind the wheel. Unless as said there are onsite camping pods.

Hales Hall just outside Cheadle is popular

They look shocking. You’d be better off kipping in your car.

Hales Hall is only a short distance away by car and there's one of the UK's largest reclamation yards opposite -- which has to be seen to be believed, everything from childhood toys to ruddy great chunks of architectural salvage. The site had a swimming pool last time we went but it was outdoors!
