Fantastic for them to come away with nothing.
Good to see their odious fanbase cementing their position as the shame of English football once again on their travels.

Would you class it as a long shot for Liverpool to go through ?

Its gone mate. That wonder goal by Messi ended it (and Salahs unbelievable miss)Dyched wrote:Long way from being over. So too Ajax and Spurs.
Liverpool fans finally cracking on the radio last night as they realised that its looking v likely that they might end the season with nothing (which would be a shame, as they deserve something but that is the way it goes sometimes)

He didn't think Cardiff winning their last 3 games, us losing our last 3 games, Southampton winning theirs and Brighton winning theirs to send us down was a long shot after the Chelsea match. You can see why a closet red would still be clinging to a we only need 4 goals mentality.
Re: Barca v Lpool
They were 4-1 up against Roma last season and got knocked out.
They had possession. Had the chances. Liverpool can score goals in quick succession. I’m not saying they will but 2 before half time and Barca will crumble.
Liverpool have on way of playing and that’s attack. Lat night they did but obviously away at Barca there is some caution/hesitation. Not next week. They’ll fly out the blocks.

Agree with that but the set of results needed after Chelsea were a long shot

Re: Barca v Lpool
The tie was pretty much as over as it could have been. Would you not agree? Liverpool were 50/1 to win 4-0 - I’d say what happened tonight was pretty extraordinary so you look a little desperate trying to make me look silly by saying what the vast majority did in that the tie was practically over. I see you waited until after the result before picking me up on my post.cricketfieldclarets wrote:He strikes again. The man who said Man City were unbeatable!
As for your other point, you know quite well that you’re mis-quoting me. I said that it didn’t matter which team Burnley put out against Man City away in the FA cup, we wouldn’t have won. I stand by that, and our recent defeat against them - at home - with our strongest 11 is further evidence to suggest that I was right.

You are wrong. They aren't unbeatable. As has been proved many times this season. Most recently in a compettion they wanted to win more than the one we faced them in. by Spurs. Who we beat.Rileybobs wrote: As for your other point, you know quite well that you’re mis-quoting me. Again - please show me where I have said that Man City are unbeatable. Saying that our first 11 wouldn’t have beaten them away at the Etihad in that FA cup tie is not the same as saying they are unbeatable. Unless you’re even more dense than your presence on here would suggest.

I didn’t, and you know it. I said it didn’t matter what team we put out that day, we would never have won. I don’t know whether you’re intentionally making things up in that childish way that you do or whether you’re genuinely too thick to understand simple English.
