Re: Brighton
Got lucky that Cardiff were so poor. Hopefully they'll struggle again next season.

Re: Brighton
In the end, I wasn't particularly arsed who went down as long as it wasn't us.
I just want to beat Arsenal. I really do.

Me too, but based on last night sadly the lads will already be on the banana boat being dragged around a bay somewhere.ElectroClaret wrote:In the end, I wasn't particularly arsed who went down as long as it wasn't us.

Re: Brighton
I'm not bothered who went down,i just want us to finish as high as possible,Saints losing today gives us a chance of staying above both them and Brighton, the only problem is Southampton's last game is home to Huddersfield,it's fair to assume that will yield 3 points for them,so given the goal difference we'll need 3 points against the Gunners,Brighton face Arsenal and City can't see any points for them,so at worst we should finish 16th.

Re: Brighton
It would not surprise me if Brighton appoint a new gaffer in the summer. Hughton’s looking more and more like he’s reached maximum utility.
Re: Brighton
And Newcastle are away to Fulham. If we can beat Arsenal there is a good chance we could also finish a place higher.tiger76 wrote:I'm not bothered who went down,i just want us to finish as high as possible,Saints losing today gives us a chance of staying above both them and Brighton, the only problem is Southampton's last game is home to Huddersfield,it's fair to assume that will yield 3 points for them,so given the goal difference we'll need 3 points against the Gunners,Brighton face Arsenal and City can't see any points for them,so at worst we should finish 16th.

I'd expect the Geordies to win,but all we can do is win our game, and see how the results pan out.Spijed wrote:And Newcastle are away to Fulham. If we can beat Arsenal there is a good chance we could also finish a place higher.

Possibly the most arrogant fans in the league. Glad they were given a scare and brought down a peg.

Re: Brighton
What happened to us coming ahead of Everton, West Ham and Bournemouth? A couple of months ago you were telling us were were better than these teams and would likely finish higher up the table. Think you also said same about us and Leicester tooSpijed wrote:And Newcastle are away to Fulham. If we can beat Arsenal there is a good chance we could also finish a place higher.

Re: Brighton
Warnock (like him or not) did a very decent job getting Cardiff so close to survival. I'd rather they stayed than BHA.
Brighton finished the season in free fall & probably had 2nd worst results in the league behind Huddersfield over that period.
Who knows how BHA will approach next season? There was a fairly strong "Hughton out" movement towards the end when relegation was still possible, I guess that might cool a bit but I wouldnt be surprised to see him go at the end of the season; they'll be spending a few millions in any case I'd guess- somebody to replace aging Glen Murray for starters.

Somewhere to visit, next season.
Funny how they finally remove the RIP off roll to get to Wales and both teams get relegated.
