Keep off the pitch!

Any chance the selfish gits who invade the pitch at the end of the last game every year could maybe not do this year please?

Oh look. Huddersfield have just finished their season with a draw against a top six team, and no pitch invasion!

The usual numpties will do the same again, it mostly consists of people who haven't been to a game all season then decide to be a total d..k and run on the pitch hoping for a selfie or players shirt and run around thinking their Robbie Blake.

I've promised my lads we can take a ball and have a kick about on the pitch afterwards.

Do grown men really want to clap other grown men for avoiding relegation?

I’m neither for, nor really against it. Being sat on an upper tier, I can’t get involved either way.
I find it strange that it seems to have become a bit of an unofficial tradition since our conversion to an all seater ground, with no fences. It used to be reserved for auspicious end of season games, like promotions or relegation near-misses. Now it seems to be taken as what’s due to a section of our support. I suppose that staying in the Prem for yet another season is cause for celebration, so I’m sure that some overexcitable individuals will encroach the pitch. As long as they get off quickly, I’m not too bothered.

Doesn't bother me. Let the fans on for 15 minutes and then the players. Can't see what the problem is

Pretty sure you are right, but hadn't we put in a rather limp wristed performance against Bournemouth and lost? We were too excited about Europe.

No one went on last season though it was an awful damp squib end to a great season .I doubt they will next week . Fair enough if it was a do or die game and we won etc but regardless who really cares ? A few old curmudgeons ? It’s been a bloody awful season and I’m glad to get it out of the way. The team have stood strong but I’ve no slavering interest to clap them off barring a beating of Arsenal when they leave the pitch .

No one? What about a combination of Anthony Joshua, Zangief from Street Fighter 2 and Apollo Creed? I reckon they could.

Europe was brilliant and I didn’t even go.

Our form and performances since Boxing Day has been outstanding. I’ve ended up really enjoying it.

The 2nd half has been far better than the 2nd half of last season. Since the Everton defeat I personally have thourally enjoyed it

It would be nice if the team didn't fanny about before coming back out, last year I nearly lost the will to live with the length of time it took them to return to the pitch.
5 minutes would be reasonable, 10 at most, but last season it was over 20 minutes after they'd left the pitch.

LAWS OF THE GAME - LAW 14: Penalty Kick

Encroachment by fans of Burnley FC [in competition against Arsenal FC]

Should the spectators encroach the pitch at any time after the FINAL WHISTLE, and Arsenal FC are either not winning, or have not already received a dubious penalty award,
The referee shall award a PENALTY KICK to Arsenal FC

Last time I pitch invaded was at York I struggled to get on the pitch then, think I'd struggle to clamber over a tiny wall now.im giving invading the pitch a miss against Arsenal, unless we beat the cheating shites with a 97th minute penalty, then you try and stop me going on.

No issue at all with kids going on, why would they not want to tread the ground their heroes do? Anyone over 18, have a word with yourself!
Infact I'd go further than that and invite the kids on to 'mob' the players.

I'm pretty sure this happened regularly even when we weren't really celebrating anything. What's the harm in fans enjoying the novelty of walking on the hallowed turf for 10 minutes. We clap the players off after every game. Are those derididing the fans for encroaching on the pitch after an average season, the same people that want to clap the team as they walk round with their kids on their shoulders?

Same here. I'm not too bothered either way but looks a bit daft when you've just played out what is effectively an end of season friendly.

Did it? I knew we had the invasion in 2016 after promotion but thought it had been two years without.

Only time I've 'invaded' a pitch at full time was on that gloriously sunny day at Scunthorpe when we clinched promotion to The Championship.

I'd probably have been the only Burnley fan left in the stands if I hadn't as everyone seemed to be on the pitch afterwards :-)

Not as annoying as when the players come trooping out with all their wags and little sprogs in tow. The fans who stay behind want to show their appreciation for the players efforts, not their entire family.

100% remember because we didn't stay behind for the players to come back out because of how long it was taking to clear the pitch

I don’t hang around for the lap of honour these days.

The waiting for the players to come back out takes an age and I don’t understand why the players all carry their kids around or why it ever began.

I went on in 1968 - FA Youth Cup win. I got my hands on the cup for a few seconds. Magic.

Yes, I was a young teenager at the time.

I enjoyed watching others go on the pitch to celebrate our Championship success at Charlton, 3 seasons back. Pity the trophy wasn't there that day - I doubt I'd had got anywhere near it if it had been.

I can't remember but I think my dad took me on the pitch after the Orient game.
Defo went on against Wrexham, Plymouth, Wigan (one of the best moments I've ever had when I sprinted to the centre circle and hugged and jumped up and down with David Jones) QPR (fell flat on my face as the final whistle went, got up, ran to the goal line for some reason and a QPR player passed me, shook my hand and said "congratulations, hope you all enjoy it, you deserve it"
I love a good pitch invasion when it matters. Don't have the urge to run on when there's nothing really at stake.
