Lady Gaga might be a lot of things, but manufactured pop she aint.

Started by doing open mic nights as a teenager. Hardly X Factor glamour.

Lady G is not a patch on Paloma faith who is a cross between G herself and Amy Winehouse but my favourite is LP who out sings them al.

You should try Courtney Barnett, nothing manufactured about this Australian Grunge Rock Lyricist. She's probably my favourite current songwriter... I mean check out this song. Lance Jr...

"I masturbated to the songs you wrote
Resuscitated all of my hopes
It felt wrong but it didn't take too long
Much appreciated are your songs.

Doesn't mean i like you man
It just helps me get to sleep
And it's cheaper than temazipan"

Thing is with EVERY music thread we get on here, it turns into a competition about who can name the most obscure musician in the world.

Anyway...

Gaga IS gaga, but she’s made it thru hard work and no shortage of talent.

We have (and have had) some real quality women artists out there. Just because they are (were) very famous, rich and well known, doesn’t mean they aren’t (weren’t) talented. AW, Adele, Florence, Gaga, PF to name but a few.

I particularly like her track, "Judas".

... almost exactly 10 years ahead of its time, I'd say ;)

Katie Perry? She can’t sing can she?

She can but it wouldn't really matter if she couldn't, to be honest.
