Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
Really makes you think
Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
McNeil had a very good game against TAA at Anfield but we still got easily beat.
TAA has had a few games where his defending has not been great but going forward he is excellent and to create that many goals just shows you that for the top teams the role of the full back has changed....plus look at Liverpool’s defensive record this year which suggests that it doesn’t really matter if their full backs get beaten because they still rarely concede.
It was completely irrelevant to last night - he had nobody to pick up last night for most of the game so could bomb forward at will - his delivery and skill is excellent.

That was a truly inspired piece of quick thinking from TAA.

Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
I thought TAA was MOM for Liverpool last night. Absolutely fantastic player who is still a young lad and learning. He will be a top class player for many years, I'm sure.
Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
That goal was outstanding. Brilliant awareness from both Trent and Origi, who finished it well. Origi I thought was excellent throughout the match. Fair play the ref too. Many would have rewarded a retake I imagine.Lord Beamish wrote:That was a truly inspired piece of quick thinking from TAA.

Out of interest, why do you think many would have given a retake?
Corners do not need to restart on referees say, so no rules were broken
Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
I know that. But moments get to some refs. Some wpuld have cracked in that moment. Especially when it goes against Barcelona.wilks_bfc wrote:Out of interest, why do you think many would have given a retake?

Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
I think Alexander-Arnold had a disappointing game against us but I wouldn't say McNeil actually tore him to pieces. But there is enough evidence to understand why people are raving about him.Spijed wrote:Everybody is raving about him....

Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
It was a lot for the ref to take in with TAA getting a new ball for the corner with the original ball thrown back on to the field of play. It was kicked back out moments before he crossed it in.wilks_bfc wrote:Out of interest, why do you think many would have given a retake?

Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
Hes had a great season.
Think that's 12 assists for him from right back this season

In my team of the season, he's been outstanding. It can only be a good thing for England too, as he's 20 and so will undoubtedly only get better.

As in the referee at Newcastle ....city scoring and de bruyne who to me is a model proffesional getting Booked....for a quick free kick.Dyched wrote:I know that. But moments get to some refs. Some wpuld have cracked in that moment. Especially when it goes against Barcelona.
Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
With Walker and TAA ahead of him I think Trippiers England days are numbered after the way he's performed this season.

Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
Crazy how 10 months can change things in football. He was thought of as one of the best right backs in the world after the World Cup.jrgbfc wrote:With Walker and TAA ahead of him I think Trippiers England days are numbered after the way he's performed this season.
Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
The real point to analyse is that TAA was dropped for the away leg.
He was brilliant last night, but does have a long way to go defensively, as McNeil gave us a demonstration of.

Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
Alexander-Arnold is going to be top drawer. Almost a shame that England seems capable of producing brilliant players in one position, and it’s bloody right back. Wan-Bissaka is brilliant too, and of course Walker and Trips, despite the latter being out of form.
Don’t get how McNeil having a good game against him is even close to being relevant though. Not the first time spijed drops a thread like this though. not the 100th either!

Couldn't believe how he didn't win The PFA Young Player of the Year award. Mature beyond his years and if he keeps his feet on the ground will be an England regular for the next decade.
