Champion’s League Final: Who Do You Want To Prevail?
Genuinely not bothered myself, but I can see this messageboard’s hoard of closet Reds getting mighty upset if they blow it again, like last year, so a Spurs win would be favourable.

Either would be fine really. Hoping to just watch a great spectacle of footy.
Although as I tend to back the underdog if I'm neutral I will probably be secretly wanting Spurs to win.

Re: Champion’s League Final: Who Do You Want To Prevail?
A Spurs victory would send the entire Arsenal fanbase into the meltdown of all meltdowns. So on that basis, Spurs.
Re: Champion’s League Final: Who Do You Want To Prevail?
Spurs, because 'some on here' won't like that

Re: Champion’s League Final: Who Do You Want To Prevail?
Liverpool for me - 4 quick reasons :-
1 - 1962 F.A.Cup final (Spurs 3 Burnley 1)
2 - League Cup Semi-final at the Turf - Burnley 3 Spurs 0
after 90 mins. Had away goals counted double in that
competition as last night - we would have got to the
final.
3 - Liverpool to lose only 1 game all season domestically
(Spurs have lost 13) they deserve something.
4 - Man Utd fans will go into absolute meltdown if the
Scousers win it. Payback time for Fergie time, Douglas
Bader legs Lingard and no VAR Lindelof to mention
only a few minor discressions.

Re: Champion’s League Final: Who Do You Want To Prevail?
So if you want Liverpool to win your a closet red but if you want Spurs to win that’s ok ?
Really do not understand some of the hatred for Liverpool on this board - some refer to their fans as the reason but my experience of being on lots of games against both teams is that Spurs fans are far worse.
As it happens I like both teams at the moment for different reasons. I like both managers a lot and I like the way both teams play.
Liverpool for me as I think after the unbelievable season they have had and the way they have played they deserve to win something.
Would not be unhappy to see Spurs win though so it’s a final I can just enjoy.
If Chelsea, United or Arsenal were involved i’d rather anyone of them got beaten by Ajax or Barca and not reach the final.

Re: Champion’s League Final: Who Do You Want To Prevail?
Nowt against Liverpool, and they produced a stunning (but not as stunning) performance on Tuesday nights.
But if Spurs win the European Cup, its about as fairy tale as that competition is likely to get before the big clubs have a stranglehold on it again.
I would have wanted Ajax to win it if they had won last night for exactly the same reasons.

Spurs for me. The 1970s and 80s were a pain for a young Burnley fan living in the area yet surrounded by kids who 'supported' Liverpool. I don't have anywhere near the antipathy for Man United as a result of them being relatively bobbins during this period, whereas the Liverpool kids were glory hunting gets with their Hitachi and Crown Paints shirts lording it over a few of us on the Pink Elly.

These were the people who mocked those that supported Burnley all the time we were on the way down and bumping along the bottom, but we’re curiously updating their FB Profile Pictures in May 2009 with shots of themselves at Wembley in Claret and Blue.dushanbe wrote:Spurs for me. Don't care who wins the final....
Just hope its as exciting as both Semi-finals have been... so obviously it will be a 0-0 and penalties match

I’m rather hoping the final is cancelled and the whole over bloated uber privileged European corporate circus comes crashing down like the mountain of turd that it is .
If pushed I’d just say Spurs as the demise of” Chas” should ensure no cup song , though a disturbing rumour of Ossie Ardillies purchasing a pack of lockets should not go unheeded .

When I was a kid Spurs were my “PL” team whilst we were in the Old Division 2.
Stood in the Away end at Ewood on a few occasions. One year devastated Klinsmann was out injured. For that reason I want Spurs to win. They were just ordinary back then. Probably what Burnley are now tbh.
The rise of Spurs along with Burnley over the past 20 years in incredible. Both spent relatively nowt compared to the teams around them.
It actually shows that we now are potentially and it sounds daft but not light years away from doing something incredible ourselves. The change came when they invested in young promising players such as Carrick, Defoe, Keane, Woodgate, later on Bale, Modric. Sold them for huge money and reinvested again. Superb.
C’Mon the Spurs

Not really bothered if Burnley aren't involved but if I had to choose it would be Spurs.
Too many Liverpool supporters over here and if they narrowly miss out on the CL and PL it would keep them quiet for a while.

It’s not for me but I dislike even more the fans who feel they can come up with their own definition of a supporter. The only criteria I think is important is that they do actually “support” the team some / most of the time - and there are a few posters on here who struggle to do this !
Re: Champion’s League Final: Who Do You Want To Prevail?
I can fully understand that ....but as a resident of the Manchester area it works the other way for me ......20 years of MU fans telling us they were the greatet team on the planet (while Liverpool carried all before them) and now the entitled Manchester City fans constantly banging on about how wonderful they are.dushanbe wrote:Spurs for me. A Liverpool win would wipe the smirks off all their faces ....bring it on!
Re: Champion’s League Final: Who Do You Want To Prevail?
It's an odd one. I cheered Liverpool and Spurs on because they were British sides in the Champions League and was as happy to see them win as i am to see Burnley win. But not i don't care anymore because they're bother British clubs.
OK, i care a little. But not near as much as if it was only one British club.

My comment after last night's result.

Re: Champion’s League Final: Who Do You Want To Prevail?
I really don't want Liverpool winning the league but wanted desperately to see Burnley take points off City the other week. I then fell in love with their European story after Barca and wanted them to go on and win the big eared bugger. Then Spurs, after their incredible City quarters and the fact Tripps plays for em', did their own miracle last night and now in my head they're both on an equal footing in terms of who I want to go on and win it. They're both heroic and I've bought into it, I'll probably pick a side during the game based on how it's going. I still don't want Liverpool winning the league but that Barca game planted a wee seed in me and, much to my horror, I now have a grudging respect for their premier league aspirations.
It's complicated lol. Football's weird like that.

I don’t hate Liverpool as a Club anymore than I hate City or Utd or any of the ‘Big Clubs’.
My antipathy, as stated before, is those who say they support Burnley but hold a barely concealed liking for one of the ‘Big Clubs’.
I think they’re weasels, and not to be trusted.

I don't like the system whereby a team that hasn't won their domestic league for 30 or 60 years can possibly be the best team in europe, but it is what it is, but on the basis that two good drinking mates are Liverpool and Arsenal fans then I'd like Liverpool to win.
I can't be arsed researching it, but is there a stat somewhere that Klopp has lost every final he's been in or similar?

Spurs. No affection for them but can't stand the other lot.
I have never bought anything by Hitachi, or any Crown paint since they had their names on those shirts referred to above, just as I will never have a phone contract with O2.

Oh, and I see elsewhere that Liverpool fans have been sending death threats etc to Rob Elliott, the Newcastle goalkeeper as a result of his injuring Mo Salah.
Classy.
