Breaking news that he’s just passed away.

I had to check if Ramsey had scored for Arsenal tonight.

I saw him live several times down The Cabaret Club in Rosegrove in the late sixties and got to know him a little (I was a waiter there during my Summer holidays from university). On stage he was Freddie Starr and the Belmonts and was absolutely brilliant, one of the funniest comedians I have ever seen. His act was an hour and a half of sheer madness and mayhem. Off stage he was a fabulous guy but as daft as a brush. RIP Freddie, you made me laugh so much.

He was watching Spurs last night and it prompted him to have some of his out of date Hamsterjam on his toast, check the use by date it could be fatal.

I saw Freddie at least 6 times live at various holiday resorts around the country when he used to do the summer season circuit. He was absolutely hilarious. The "Vincent" sketch being side splittingly funny for me as a kid.

Dont forget he owned 1994 Grand National winner Minnehoma as well

RIP Freddie, an absolute comedy legend

I always thought there was an element of danger in his act, which sometimes included throwing a bucket of live maggots into the audience. Completely bonkers but incredibly funny.

RIP
