:o :o :o

Already horrendous, before folk book!

Got to be a fan charter trip, even for the riches of Chelsea and Arsenal.

Leisure would have sorted a few Jumbos for us Clarets!

Would have liked to have tested him!

Or someone could have looked at a map first and realised that Azerbaijan is nowhere near being in Europe.

Doesn't look that bad pricewise if you're prepared to be a little circuitous. It's much more expensive than Europe to fly out there at any time. It'd be mad to just fly in and out for the match anyway - might as well make a holiday of it and take a few days either side.

Reckon that will be plenty. Even for such a big game the cost and hassle in getting to Baku will limit it to the diehards I think.

The BBC don't seem to have much of a grasp geopolitical reality.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48220247" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

via beautiful Donetsk and Rostov-on-Don. And that's before Grozny, Makhachkala and the rest of tourist hotspots Chechnya and Dagestan.

Can’t believe (well I can) that the beeb are daft enough to publish that picture. Some cockney will end up thinking that’s the best way to get there....

You can keep Azerbaijan, but life is too short not to visit Uzbekistan.

You can get to Baku for about £70 if you leave Thursday. Getting back I haven't looked at.

You can drive it in around 60 hours, if you don't stop or sleep.

Do-able with a group of you although if you're at 60 hours, you might as well stop to sleep and make it 75.

£70 with a flight, a bus and a train leaving Thursday afternoon, arriving Saturday morning and with a day in an interesting city "at your leisure" on Friday. Not bad. If I had a match ticket.

Not sure about that one travelling through Armenia as once you have a visa they may not allow into Azerbaijan .
I recall around 5 or 6 years ago when Ireland played there one lad had a page missing out of his passport and was sent back on the same flight we were all on it was said that he "may have been to Azerbaijan " and that was it with customs .

There's no problem unless you've been to Nagorno-Karabakh. Standard Armenian / Azerbaijani stamps and visas don't cause a problem. A missing page in your passport, if spotted, would cause you a problem in plenty of places.

You don't need a visa for Armenia in any case.

You’d think the clubs could get permission to put on large screen tellies at each club for something like this.

Other than Azerbaijan being in Europe, you are absolutely spot on.

They are allowed and are exploring it. Liverpool is looking at something on the docks because they've got concerts in this summer.

From The Times, "Tottenham Hotspur are considering opening their new stadium for a screening of the Champions League final against Liverpool next month"

Not seen anything about Chelsea/Arsenal.

Seeing as Spurs will have the facilities already in place for showing their Final, maybe they can open it up to Arsenal & Chelsea fans watching theirs there

I'd love to see the state of their shiny new stadium the next morning...
