SD has a habit of signing players 12 months in advance. My feeling is that there's a pattern of play and formation he has in mind to throw into the mix next season and Vyagra is very much a part of it.
Had Defour not been injured this season with the type of game we play when he's on the pitch, maybe we may have seen a bit more of Vyagra.
Anyone seen this man ?

Did you not see the Cardiff game ?SGr wrote:Cardiff was a win wasn’t it? I always thought the idea was not to change a winning side. We then failed to beat Huddersfield at home with an arguably worse performance
We were absolutely awful and I can’t think of a luckier win we had all season. We didn’t even deserve a draw.
Vydra played poorly (but so did most of the team)
He also started against West Ham and City and Barnsley in the cup.
Against West Ham he was poor. Against Barnsley he was poor - and that was a big chance to shine.
Against City tbh on your own up front against that side almost felt like he was being punished !
The confusing thing about this week is that in his last couple of sub appearances I thought he has shown a few nice touches so to not see him come on against Arsenal was a surprise.
As suggested he might just not be good enough for this league - his career to date kind of suggests that but I assume we paid £11m and £50k a week because we thought he could step up.
There’s still time.

I'd be amazed if Matej is still at Burnley next season

I don't think too many are saying that. However, I think a lot of people are of the view that if we're losing with 20 minutes to go and our current tactics aren't working then we'd like a sub such as Vydra who will play a different style.dandeclaret wrote:The front 2 are one of the best partnerships in the Prem, and some of you want that breaking up for a lad who has never forced his way into a team in the premiership despite 3 or 4 opportunities? Strange.

A bigger concern is if Barnes/Wood are out long-term,who will step up to the mark,on his brief sightings so far Vydra isn't PL standard, but he has shown fleeting glimpses of quality, hopefully a good pre-season will improve his chances of making a contribution, even as an impact sub.aggi wrote:I don't think too many are saying that. Good summary, I have seen him play in all of these games and for someone who should be fighting to get in the team and show his ability he gives the impression that he can't be arsed.TVC15 wrote:Did you not see the Cardiff game ?
