Today was the ideal game to give him a run , we know Barnes and wood work but we need alternatives and vydra is it , crouch was an emergency thing and ok I thought he did well at causing problems when he came in but he's not the future so was disappointed to see him instead of vydra

That’ll be the same Barnes who has scored as many Prem goals as Son, Firmino and Lukaku then.

Remember when he scored in consecutive games then got dropped?

Or when Dyche played him on his own up top against City?

Some bizarre decisions have been made surrounding Vydra and I for one hope he is still here next season. You know, because we paid £11m quid for him and all

There are only 6 players in the premier league, outside the top 6 that have scored more goals than Barnes this season.

You got the feeling there though that Dyche wasn't scared to use those players. Tarkowski seemed to come off the bench (often to central midfield it felt like) almost every other game.

In Vydra's case though he's been here almost a year and we're still seeing him being left on the bench behind Crouch. He's either worse than Crouch, which is worrying, or Dyche thinks that Crouch will have a bigger impact on the game which doesn't make you think he'll be featuring much next year if Dyche doesn't rate him after a full season.

It’s got to be a personality thing with Sean and Matej. He’s shown enough in games when he’s come on to warrant getting a place in the team at some point during the game.
I won’t be surprised when Crouch came on before him yesterday was the final straw for him.
I will be very surprised if we see him in a claret and blue shirt again (unless he signs for Villa.

Cardiff was a win wasn’t it? I always thought the idea was not to change a winning side. We then failed to beat Huddersfield at home with an arguably worse performance

I'm not one of these who is clamouring for Vydra to get more minutes all the time, but even I was genuinely baffled as to why Crouch came on ahead of him on Sunday.

All three of whom we’d have here in a heartbeat.

Barnes IS premier league quality. Not entirely convinced Wood is, but Ashley absolutely.

Disappointed about MV tbh. Not sure what’s gone on, or what’s going on. After what we saw at Everton I would’ve expected MV to get at least half a game yesterday. I can only assume he is not part of the plan.

For balance, he’s not the only Burnley player to have put in a poor shift this season.

And if that’s the reason he hasn’t been given another chance, then you’d have to question the manager for the answer.

We don’t really know tho, so we have to speculate.

I do want to know what Dyche’s thought process was when he went to the board and demanded we sign him. Given how he has been deployed, our failure to land Jay Rodriguez and his status as top scorer seem to be the only motivating factors.

I’m not saying it’s the case - but from the outside looking in it just looks like almost a panic buy, with little proper research into the system he thrived in.

Got to ask: going into the window, did Dyche have him as a priority target? I highly doubt it.

Found it and it sounds good news for Vydra in the medium/long term to me, the only difference between the Kean, Tarks, Johan signings is the transfer fee payed for Vydra (over 10 million) but there again it was a late signing so we might have been held to ransom to a certain extent and the inflated market season on season.

Looking forward to seeing him more regularly perhaps now.

I remember you tried to pan Barnes on a different thread and you gave up replying when you were made to look a mug.

Can you clarify this time as to why you don't think he's a premier league player? Is it his lack of goals? Games? Contribution to the team? Or is it your lack of intelligence....

I think Vydra will be the first transfer out of the club in the coming months.

I would personally like to keep him and try to play to his strengths but Dyche plays percentage football.

Dyche gets to see what vydra can do in training everyday and maybe dyche just thinks vydra isn't good enough. Maybe that's the reason he doesn't get picked. The time I've seen vydra play admittedly we have not seen a great deal, doesn't make me wanna jump on the vydra bandwagon. UTC

The front 2 are one of the best partnerships in the Prem, and some of you want that breaking up for a lad who has never forced his way into a team in the premiership despite 3 or 4 opportunities? Strange.
