Your Season Highlight?
For me it was away at United. United were on a fantastic run of form under the then temporary manager, Solskjaer, and looked unbeatable. We went there and somehow on 85 minutes we are 2-0 up. Played so well and battled so hard in that match, the atmosphere was electric and the United fans were leaving in droves. None of the Burnley faithful expected us to be in that position. I know it ended up as a draw, but it was superb upto that point.

The 4-0 win against Bournemouth was probably the highlight.

West Ham at home, saw the return of Tom in goal and seemed to start our comeback from what seemed like only days before a season which was only ending with us being relegated

There's quite a few when you think back, but Aberdeen and Athens will take some beating. the latter was probably the best experience I've had watching us. The whole trip was great.
If talking a single league game I'd say Bournemouth away, great display.

Re: Your Season Highlight?
In the moment, from me it’s Tom Heaton’s save right at the death versus West Ham. When he tipped that save over the bar, we knew we had the points in the bag and that the season could potentially tuen...It did!
On reflection, my main highlight would be the early appearances of the Dwight McNeil, in Europe and then against Manchester United in the Premier League game at Turf Moor. You could see he had something, but since coming back into the side around the turn of the year, he has been quite literally unbelievable!

Re: Your Season Highlight?
Spurs at home, along with the emergence of Dwight.
Re: Your Season Highlight?
The bus breaking down on the way to the Basaksehir stadium and the ensuing mayhem; disgorging slightly inebriated male and female clarets in urgent need of relief onto suburban Istanbul dual carriageway made for quite a spectacle and subsequent talking point alongside the experience of watching the team earn a creditable draw against decent opponents. All I can say is that one of the gender groups made a far better attempt than the other in hiding a degree of modesty from onlooking residents in high rise opposite the breakdown! Oh and we almost missed the start of the match

Re: Your Season Highlight?
Home game against Aberdeen for the atmosphere, the occasion and what the away fans brought to the event.
Win against a strong Spurs side.
McNeil’s goal v Wolves.

Re: Your Season Highlight?
The emergence of Dwight McNeil as a Premier League player of quality. I always find it extremely satisfying to see a youngster come through the ranks and make the grade. Let's have some more!

Re: Your Season Highlight?
Hard to pick just one.
The Spurs home win was as satisfying but if I had to pick one highlight it's probably the 3-1 win in a '6 pointer' at Brighton.

On reflection, probably the win at home to Spurs. That’s when I felt that we were probably going to be safe.
Re: Your Season Highlight?
Definitely Aberdeen away. What an amazing day. The following day, not so much

Athens.
Aberdeen I was in with some very partizan Aberdonians, so not pleasurable!

Athens best away feeling of my life the shear atmosphere in the square, all the build up to the match with all the flags draped from every available space
Top atmosphere in the ground and the total determination that some fans went to just to get there
An experience I am proud as punch to say i was part of that history

Europa League without a shadow of a doubt. But it will probably bug me forever that we didn't make it to the group stage.

Spurs home
But tied with Aberdeen away, even though because of that bridge collapse on the M6 we didn't get there early enough to enjoy the pre-match in the square.

Bardsley hitting Fernandes, and placing him in his pocket against West Ham. Turned our season around, that one tackle.

Vokes equaliser at Aberdeen.
To see his score our first competetive goal - and an important one, in europe in my lifetime was incredible.
Having starter watching us in division 4 that for me was the peak - so far!
Was a great goal and a fantastic atmosphere when that hit the goal. On what was overall as goo an away day / weekend ive ever been to.

Istanbul was Ok. A great trip. And a memorable one. But the match itself was like the european venture as a whole. Completely underwhelming. **** game. **** club. **** atmosphere. And not a shot on target.

Huddersfield away is up there. Going behind and coming back to win and that really snuffed out them as realistic candidates for staying up. McNeil great and Barnes’ winner tremendous in front of the travelling fans.

Re: Your Season Highlight?
After the Spurs match, we drove down to Colchester to visit my daughter at uni.
The Sunday night I spent in the pub where she works - talking football/drinking with her chums who are Spurs fans. And gloating!
Childish, perhaps, but immensely satisfying!

Exactly the same for me. I started watching Burnley in 1997. All I knew was us being rubbish, them down the road being miles better and the premier league being a fantasy land.Longside4evr wrote:Athens best away feeling of my life the shear atmosphere in the square, all the build up to the match with all the flags draped from every available space

All that ended in Athens.
I was watching Burnley F.C. in a proper European away game and no one could take that away from me.
