I believe Brightons style or lack of it have been found out by teams
They relied on Murray to score but time haa caught up with him and there usually sound defence has leaked goals
I was hoping that Cardiff stayed up and the very suspect Chelsea win proved Cardiffs Achillies.
Brighton are nailed on to go down as they cant strengthen significantly due to massive debts and sacking the best manager they have had

Depends who they appoint.

The chairman has signalled his intention that just surviving isn't good enough.
They will have to get a decent manager but I don't see them any more relegation threatened than us.

Our defense over the season has been poor as well.

Imagine the melt-down if they went for Dyche

If you are going to sack a manager, then right at the end of the season is the time to do it.

Plenty of time to get a replacement, and gives him plenty of time with the squad.

But like everybody else, you have to be realistic about stuff, and there is little sign that is what Brighton are.

This season is over, so all to play for again. How anyone can say “they’ve had their day” at this point needs their head looking at.

Hughton has now been sacked by Norwich, Newcastle and Brighton, despite doing what outside observers would view as a decent job. Do the owners of 3 clubs have expectations that exceed where their clubs should be, or is there something more to Hughton than just results?

It seems that Hughton had lost the respect of the players - which is what happened at both Newcastle and Norwich allegedly. However, all 3 clubs could be seen as having ideas that exceed where they should be. Supporting Burnley I KNOW my club is way beyond where it is supposed to be already and the challenge is to stay there!

Hughton always comes across as a decent bloke, but a little softly spoken and maybe on the quieter side. If you have the task of man managing a group of testosterone filled blokes in what is a very masculine environment, that kind of approach could be seen as a weakness and one that players could exploit for their own gain. Possibly he is better suited to the role of a number 2 alongside a more dominant personality.

In answer to the OP; probably not. They’re owned by a very rich man who shows no sign of abating his spending.
I expect they’ll appoint well and be just fine, next season.

Though I’d love to think our defence as solid with a bit of quality we’ve shipped plenty . Tgst said not so much our defensive shortcomings as such more being unable to answer teams at the other end or create much

Houghton has a cracking managerial record for getting the very best out of his teams and budget . Though seems to be a pattern where once he gets a team to the prem he’s not backed with enough investment and the championship esque bunch of underperforming players under him “ lose their confidence “ in him

Graham Potter looks set to take over. Young manager, fresh ideas. Can see Brighton spending another £50m or so this season - maybe they’ll take to watching players this time instead of relying on lazy statistics.

Their day isn’t over - they’re in the Premier League, are about to get a new manager and have a committed backer behind them.
