Top 3 managers you have most enjoyed watching Burnley under ?
1. Coyle - The promotion season under Coyle was my fave as a claret. We played great attacking football and had some real flair players (Blake,Eagles,Elliott). Coventry away was one of the finest away displays iv seen. The way in which we dispatched Brizzle City on the last day with ease and then Reading and Wembley. Magic.
2. Howe - Like him or not you cant argue Eddies brand of football was exciting and got you off your seat. You might score 4 and concede 3 but a wins a win. Wish he would of stayed longer and we may play a better brand of football now.
Ternent - Was a toss up between Cotterill and Ternent but im gunna go for Stan the Man. One week we would be garbage then the week after we would be world beaters and we played some cracking stuff in his promotion season.
Now you may ask how Dyche isnt in this list when his reign has been the most successfull, but the longball football isnt exciting. We are boring to watch.
Give me a 5-4 away win in the Championship anyday. We are only in this league to make up the numbers. I want to be excited again i want an attacking brand of football !

1. Jimmy Mullen...91/92 4th Division Champions season ..the most fun I have ever had watching football.
2. Sean Dyche ...the glorious first promotion out of nowhere, the brilliant 23 undefeated run and now beating the likes of Spurs and cheesing off Chelsea in theior own den under the lights. Great times.
3. Coyle...I'll reluctantly include him because that promotion season was fantastic and Reading Away in particular is a glorious memory.

TBH the OP was quite believable upto number 3 where he says "Was a toss up between Cotterill and Ternent"

On the basis of delivering both entertainment and an end product (i.e. promotion) I'd go for:
Mullen
Ternent
Coyle (reluctantly)
I know I'll get slaughtered for this but the football under John Bond was pretty good.

Adamson. The finest football we ever played. What a tragedy that team couldn’t have grown together.
Potts. Title winners, cup finalists. Great players who scored for fun but a different era even to 10 years later.
Dyche. The promotion and championship showed what SD can produce when given a level playing field. Now he trots out a side to get a result but what a ride he’s taken us on.

Laws - So bad it was funny
The Dyche Man - We’ve had it all. From those games around March/April when we seemed to be play at home every Tuesday. Which were also so bad it was funny. To great performances. To great points.
Coyle - Chelsea in the cup. Spurs in the cup. Arsenal in the cup. Play offs. Man U at home.

Dyche tops because of what he has achieved when financially the club can not really compete in this current age.

Although I reckon if Coyle had stayed as long as the others he’d move down.
While he was here though he was superb.

Re: Top 3 managers you have most enjoyed watching Burnley under ?
How can Dyche and Howes style of play be up there?
Howe for us was tippy tally trash and Dyche plays a more passive version of cotterball. The football under Laws was better than both , successful or not it was better to watch.
Coyle,
Mullen’
Ternent.

Mullen - the memories of the away trips to Wrexham, Northampton, York and Carlisle.
Dyche- Second promotion season and 7th in Premier nothing to split between the two.
Brian Miller- Taking is to Wembley and the Experience of Preston away a year after the Orient game.

1- Coyle has to be number 1 purely because we had some success and some of the football we played was out of this world.
2- Ternent is number 2 for leading us out of the wilderness, and for probably the first bit of success I experienced as a Burnley fan. Little and Blake were tremendous players to watch as well.
3- Dyche, if you were going purely off results Dyche would have to be number 1. But some of the football we play under him really can be a chore to watch at times. Some of our time wasting at away games last season was embarrassing to watch.

Re: Top 3 managers you have most enjoyed watching Burnley under ?
The title is about the most enjoyable to watch, not the most successful. Harry Potts won the league with exciting attacking football, with a complete level playing field, protected by the maximum wage. Adamson came 6th in the old Division 1 and got to the FA Cup semis where the financial level had already started to tip, and he had to put up with a chairman who was determined to sell anything that moves. This is nothing compared to uphill battle that Dyche has to deal with. So in terms of
relative success, Dyche is top,but in terms of enjoyment, I often enjoy the result more than watching how we got it

The title actually says who have you most enjoyed watching Burnley under hence my answer of dyche as the results speak for themselvesgtclaret wrote:The title is about the most enjoyable to watch, not the most successful. Jimmy Adamson is where it all started for me then it would both be Jimmy Mullen and Stan Ternent and as a footnote a most enjoyable season under Brian Miller when winning the third division.

Re: Top 3 managers you have most enjoyed watching Burnley under ?
Dyche’s football is pretty rancid at times, but he makes the best of what he’s got and the achievements are unrivalled in my lifetime.
So, for me...
Dyche
Coyle
Cotterill
Howe’s football was turgid. Laws was diabolical.

Based purely on the pleasure of our style of play
Adamson
Coyle
Dyche
Still think SD IS the best manager, to achieve what he has in this day and age is incredible.

1- Dyche - I enjoy winning, I enjoy beating Them Lot, I enjoyed going 23 unbeaten, I enjoyed going into Europe, I enjoyed beating the ‘big boys’.... I could probably go on
These others are some way behind the boss
2- Ternent- Seeing Payton score for fun, Little and Blake at full throttle and in particular that win at Bradford when Glen was different gravy and Tony Ellis became a short lived hero
3- Mullen I was only relatively young but I loved that 4th division championship season and also some of the football when we had like of Heath, Eyres and Ted Mc

Re: Top 3 managers you have most enjoyed watching Burnley under ?
All these people having a go at Dyche for the football he plays can chuff right off. Like all teams, when we’re losing it looks rubbish. Obviously. We’re losing! But when we’re at it it’s great to watch. When we got promoted we played some top stuff.
I was a big fan of Ternent back in the day but Dyche is the absolute man. He’s made things happen that I could only dream of 20 odd years ago.
