To be fair, I’ve been watching them in 1992, so all of them at some point.

Mullen before he was sacked

Heath - meh

Waddle - we looked like we didn’t have a prayer most of the time

Ternent - Shipping 11 goals against Gillingham and Man City - there was no hope. 6-5 at Grimsby, 7-4 against Watford - shambles

Cotterill - 0-0 draw with Luton (I think) is the worst football match I’ve ever seen at Turf Moor

Coyle - Plymouth at home the season we went up - awful ... after the 4-1 defeat at Hillsborough.

Laws - wrong appointment

Howe - see Heath

Dyche - lost 2-1 at Southampton - I contributed to a thread that it was time for him to go.

To be fair to Laws he didn't half make the team announcements interesting as it was a lottery which ridiculous decisions he'd make picking the team.

Its bloody boring under Dyche having a settled successful team pretty much picking itself every week

Laws, Howe, Dyche.

I don't care where we are at the moment, Dyche's football is the worst to watch.

Absolutely! That game was utter garbage and Eagles finally got himself sent off. When we won at Wembley 8 months later I remember actually pinching myself as I remembered that Plymouth match and it seemed like something from a different era, never mind the same season.

Brian Miller is probably protected by his club legend status, but let’s be honest, he was managing us at our very lowest.

1, Benson, if we hadn't appointed him, our time line would have been different and Buchan and Cav would not have happened
2, Laws (another mistake)
3, Casper ( great coach but.....)

Buchan and Cav, Heath, Waddle and the latter of Mullen and Miller's term
At least some of Bonds season was exciting but too many mistakes made

Laws, Cotterill, Dyche.

3 horrible styles of play, not sure which side passes the football less but given the financial circumstances when all were manager, Dyche for me has to take the award for ''worst style of play'' but also the award ''most successful''.

I would have had Benson top of my list but I checked our managers on the link and he was so bad they jumped a year. I thought I must have dreamt him.

Agree with much if this. Cotterill did a good job with what he had even though it wasn’t great to watch. Personally didn’t like Howe’s football. Every time the other team
went anywhere near our goalmouth I expected them to score. Whilst it’s not as exciting I prefer a more organised defence as number one priority.

Quite right. Apologies, my memory is playing tricks on me. It was your above comment of "Coyle - Plymouth at home the season we went up - awful ... after the 4-1 defeat at Hillsborough." that threw me....

The Ipswich game at home was dreadful and I thought Eagles got the red card in this game - not the Plymouth game - but I was wrong.

Think the Plymouth game was Russell Anderson's debut, though.

Laws, Cotterill, Howe - in no particular order

1) Cotterill - Made me stop wanting to go on as I was so bored by the football that I barely enjoyed the games we won.
2) Laws - The whole club was on a down and apathy had set in after Coyle left and relegation became inevitable. Not really his fault but I just didn't enjoy his entire reign and I never wanted him here in the first place which made it even worse.
3) Casper - I don't remember too much about his time in charge as I had only just started going on but from what I do remember we were a bang average / poor 4th division side at the lowest I have ever seen us. It was better than watching Pub leagues down the park but only for the crowds as the football didn't seem much of a difference in standard.

Cotterill

Only Cotterill has ever made me question going on, prior to that I just accepted we were ****

Laughable to see Dyche being listed (but no surprise with some who have listed him)

Cotterill was the only one that made me want to stop watching us, but he also granted me the epiphany that if you start to care less then you start to enjoy more.

There's nothing to quite beat gallows humour when (the old site) is awarding the man of the match to a plastic bag after the 19th game without a win.

Cotterill was painful.

But I have to give a special mention to Howe, especially later on, for sucking the joy out of scoring a goal. Not a nice feeling when you finish celebrating, knowing the opposition is about to cancel it out within 2 minutes.

We've had some real garbage in the bad old days, but more recently Cotterill ( in fairness his job was to keep us up first season and he couldn't drop that mantra ) Waddle and Howe.

In no particular order.

Howe - square pegs in round holes with his tactics and resources. Brighton away v 9 men.

Waddle - clueless tactics and terrible recruitment, shocking first 6 games and didn't get much better

Cotterill- used to go away regularly but after Rotherham and West Ham I didn't bother again for about 8 yrs.

I’ve only been watching since the season before the “Orient Game” but when you look through the list of managers after Casper we have a good track record of appointing managers. For me only Waddle & Laws have failed. Granted some of the football from others hasn’t been great but we definitely progressed..Cotterill signed a lot of players that took us up in 2009 as did Howe when we got promoted under Dyche.

Can’t believe there’s so much hate for the Bond season. Yes, I understand the dislike of the man himself, but the football that season, certainly at home, was entertaining. I was only 15, but I remember a 7-0 v Port Vale and a couple of fives and at least two fours at home. I’m still convinced we’d have gone up if Kevin Reeves hadn’t got an ultimately career ending injury. It wasn’t until Jimmy Mullen arrived that we saw entertainment at that level again.
