Always disappointing to see players but there is always some good news and for me that's shown by Scott Wilson. A year ago, his fellow defenders got pro deals but he just got a scholarship extension and was then sent out to Stalybridge on loan. He's come back and really impressed in the last month or two and has earned himself a deal.

So as the squad size stands presently there are 23 or maybe 24 of a max 25 by counting three keepers Wells and Agyei but O’Neill and McNeil were not 21 on Jan 1st 2019 if I have understood the rules and so do not have to be in the 25

The squad won't stand like that come August though. At least one other keeper will go, I suspect Wells will move on and I'm not expecting Agyei to stay. There will be spaces in the squad for new signings.

Aiden O'Neill offered a new deal? Is this just so we can secure some cash from whoever in Oz ends up signing him?

Worryingly, Crouch wasn’t on that list.

Dunno, he was quoted a few weeks back as saying something along the lines of he wanted to come back and fight for a place (i know what else is he supposed to say), but with that and a new deal being offered maybe, he still has a future here?

A shame Lennon isn't out of contract. That would free up a few quid.

Haven’t we taken up the option of the one year extension

Yes, Lennon must be better than we know!

Lennon and Defour will be like new signings next season. We can build the team round them Hart and Crouch.

The situation with crouch is quite baffling, he's hardly going to be good enough next season when he wasn't good enough this, ok you could arguably say he got us a vital 3pts v Southampton but surely over the course of the season his time is up at 38, no better than league 1 standard in my opinion, we clearly need some pace up front and different to what we have, he simply has to go to free up money to replace him, surely dyche is not hoping to continue next season with the same as we've had up top this season, fair play to Barnes and Wood but c'mon we need not just 1 but 2 new strikers.

He didn't get us a vital three points against Southampton.

I thought I’d read that he wanted to move home. But don’t clubs have to offer young players a contract to prevent them leaving on a free when their contract is up?

I thought it was more a case of he wanted to be “home” for family/personal reasons.

Disappointed if the club have taken up the option of Lennon, unless it’s a similar situation to Bardsley in that he’s triggered an extra year because of appearances.

Was hoping he’d be one to get off the books this summer as we need players on the up of their careers and Lennon’s best days are well behind him. A return to Leeds makes sense but equally any top 6 championship club would be interested in him.

Aside from the Bournemouth game I can’t think of another significant contribution he’s made in his time here.

Because of his age we would need to offer him a contract to get a compensation fee but only if he went to a club in England or Wales. If he went to a club in Australia we’d only get about £200,000 so it wouldn’t be worth offering him anything.

Sorry, I thought the result of the game was 2-1, so he played a huge part in the point. But to re-iterate he certainly shouldn't be anywhere the set up next season.

Even with our new found riches £200k is not to be sniffed at. ANY fees we can get for players who don’t make it with us can only be a good thing for the academy.

You could buy 6 and a bit Michael Duffs for that! :D

Would probably have spent more on his wages by then than we’d get for him. The reason we’ve offered him a deal is because we want to keep him.

Pretty sure Lennon signed a 2 and a half year deal, so he's got 12 months left anyway. Unfortunately all the signs seem to be that we're going to offer Crouch a 12 month deal.

That's what was said at the time re: Lennon, but obviously wasn't the case.

What's happening with Lennon? He was supposed to be back from his injury in March but nothing comes out of the club about it.
If it's down to his mental health please delete my post.

There has been a lot come out from the club on him. Dyche has said that he's now fully fit and training but he didn't want to throw him straight into a first team game. Had the under-23s not finished their programme I think he'd have had a couple of games with them.

Hopefully Lennon and Brady can get a good pre season in then. Ridiculous that some people seem to be writing them off. Lennon has shown flashes of what he's capable off and Brady was on fire just before he got his bad injury.

Doesn't that basically sum up his career?
