Is this what getting old feels like when people you remember as being young players start becoming managers

Inevitable really. Pulis-ball is barely tolerable when its getting results. When it isn't, well.... this

What is their squad like now? I suspect he may have done some Cotterill-esque work in moving out some high earners, and so his spell will probably be viewed in better terms in retrospect

If they could get Hughton he'd be a steal but i think WBA have him lined up

Boro fans hated his football. If he didn't go up it was inevitable that he'd be gone.

I wonder if there might be a job for him at Swansea shortly

Question - (with no agenda).
If Dyche were suddenly to depart, (not expecting it), how many on here think that Pulis would keep our current squad in the PL?
I think he'd be decent shout tbh, even though we wouldn't see any improvement on our current style of football.

Even though we wouldn't see any improvement on our current style of football? I think we'd see a serious deterioration.

He would do wonders for club shop sales though

Times are hard at Boro. and they will be looking to get the high-earners off their books. We have a connection through Ben Gibson and maybe one or two of these might become available:

George Friend
Paddy McNair
George Saville
Jonathan Howson
Britt Asssombalonga

Not it’s bloody not... it’s when you start to see the grandkids of Players retiring you realise that.

A lot of the Boro fans were that fed up they were hoping they didn't sneak into the playoffs to make 100% sure Pulis went at the end of the season.

That's a pity. Some are very ungrateful.
After all, he did keep them up!

I don't mind Pulls but wouldn't want him anyway near the Turf.

I doubt Gibbo would be giving us glowing reviews considering his lack of game time. Not that I’d want any of those anyway.

Pulis’ football is far worse than Dyche’s, industrial and outdated, and I wouldn’t want him here. He’s also spent quite a bit of cash in his career and been known to throw his toys out of the pram (particularly at Palace). I’m sure Stoke’s wage bill was well up there during his time.

He will take his pay off and then spend a bit of time out from the game and rest in his house in Sandbanks

And then get another managerial job

George Friend is a decent left back who'd certainly give Taylor some serious competition. Whether he'd want to come and probably not get a game for us is another matter.

I remember that a well known director at Portsmouth, years ago said (in private), that Pulis would not talk to the chairman. The offices were not far apart, however, Pulis would send the chairman a fax!
