That's a Plus....Burnley were always signing Family members ...sons nephews grandsons inlaws etc.regardless whether they could play or not and the turf moor regime in general put me in mind of a masons lodge. Well done Sean.claretonthecoast1882 wrote:Our recruitment team can't even sign the managers son. Get rid of them

Re: New signing for Northampton
Imagine if Sean Dyche was your Dad, coming home after a disappointing school parents evening ....
" Look Dad, I'm far from the finished article, as they say. I know my Physics Grades are not brilliant, but it's very much a work in progress. Looking at Geography, maximum effort is the minimum requirement and I wonder if I changed my name to Maximo Dychio, I'd get more credit than I do. Turning to History, I havn't got the abilities that some of the others have, but I think the group ( Mum, you, me & the teachers ) have progressed well, and there's more than one way to pass a GCSE. As for that C- for that Economics essay, I think the whole class could see that was a stonewall B+, how the teacher missed it I've no idea .... I think that we'll just put this parent's evening behind us, and focus my attention on the next one "

Add Chris and Paul Scott, Derek's sons but I can't think of other families. I don't think Frank Casper's son, Chris, played for Burnley.Hipper wrote:The only examples I recall were David Miller and Derek Scott. Others???
Re: New signing for Northampton
Wasn’t young Chris on our books and was lured to Man Utd

Re: New signing for Northampton
Sons of.....while they were Good footballers they were afforded a place at Burnley which Didn't help our cause in climbing out if the Mess we were in at the time.Jobs for the boys a bit prevalent in the eighties nineties tbh. Manager wise also we tended to promote from within. It did us know favours in the long run...Hipper wrote:The only examples I recall were David Miller and Derek Scott. Others???

Ah now that surprises me but then I wasn't sure and only vaguely remembered some Bury connection so my memory isn't really that goodTricky Trevor wrote:Never with us but doing ok at ManU until a career ending injury.

Re: New signing for Northampton
Max Dyche. Sounds like something that happens at half time when the team have played badly and let in two soft goals.
