One of his sons used to post on the other board. I was told they were reading one of my posts with their solicitor after I apparently accused Stan of being a Sunday League manager. What I actually said was that some of the scores under Stan are normally only seen in the Sunday League. 6-5 4-7 and the like.

I saw Brian Little in Tesco, the young lad on the checkout asked if he was going on the game, he gently explained that he used to play for a Burnley and the lad look gob smacked

Gerry Harrison was in Asda's in Bury on Monday ! ...
Seen quite a few ex Clarets in Haslingden tesco's, even saw Colin Hendry in there a couple of
months ago .. Me and my 11 yr old did a little re-enactment of Gazza's goal just in ear shot !!

I fixed Brian Flynn's boiler once, and saw Gerry Harrison and Andy Payton in the refectory at Burnley College on Wednesday.

Hmmm not sure. If you read his autobiography he bragged about playing Burnley off against Bury to get a better deal for him and Sam knowing we were skint, also rumour had it he applied for jobs whilst here nothing wrong with that but would a real Claret do that ? Glad we got him when we did though but Kilby got it right at the end.

Barry Kilby has got so many things right, other than the appointment of Laws, but he's done more than enough to be allowed that one. I love the man for what he's done for our club and if ever there was a call to erect a statue of someone outside the Turf, I'd be the first to nominate Baz. (are we allowed to call him Baz?).

I think Brendan Flood was a driver in getting Laws from what I heard second hand.

Can't complain too much about Floods intentions or the help he afforded Burnley, even though it was only a loan repayable,, but when he said that he had to buy his wife a diamond ring for every player he bought, I thought 'tosser'.

Flood admitted in his book that he tried to get Laws in 2007 but was warned off by the other directors so we can only assume that it was his decision then. He was very much in charge at the time and he made some of the signings around that time.

I was once sat in the executive part of the Bob Lord and as he went past me to my seat, did a surprised face, came back and shook my hand asking how I was. He then sat down and started pointing me out to his friends & family and giving me the thumbs up. I played on it but can only imagine as I was in my 20’s he thought I was a player.

The other directers wouldn't of needed much persuasion when the other manager in the frame wanted a million quid bonus for keeping us up.

That will seem pittance compared to the bonus scheme now.
