Agree. The wage inflation tumbles down our division and the league's and you end up with clubs like Bury Oldham Macclesfield Bolton etc running out of cash.

As good a team as City are it's hard to really respect them when so much of their success has been bought by dirty oil money.

It’ll end in tears.

The owner will get bored eventually, like Abramovic and they’ll have to sustain themselves without their fiddled sponsorship.

Either that or Pep will spend all his money trying to chase that elusive Champions League.

As has been said, there’s no respect for their achievements as we all know it’s based on nothing but money they haven’t earned.

Trouble is it's not really a person but an entire state trying to use sport to extent soft power and improve public image.

I’ll hedge a guess that lots of neutrals would love to see football played like that, just not by Man City.

Better still a hoof ball nicked win against Man City would be just as sweet.

Dreadful game. Watford made a decent fist of it for 10 minutes and then crumbled. It’s a shame that what should be one of the highlights of the football season was such a non-contest.

A total embarrassment to the game. When are the hierarchy going to realize money has ruined the game for the average fan, limit the number foreign players and come up with some sort of spending cap. Oh ya, I’m dreaming, it won’t happen as long as pockets are being lined. Football League forefathers must be turning in their graves!

A shame for Citeh, despite being a superb team they will remain extremely largely unloved by football supporters outside their own fanbase

I'm not really a fan of some of the football we play but at least our success has been properly earnt. I don't particularly enjoy watching City just grinding teams into the dirt as a neutral either.

Exhibition football.

No trouble watching them. They better watch out, next time they play Burnley.

It’ll be a long while until someone knocks them off their perch now.
The money isn’t running out.

Even if someone equally rich takes over a rival it’s going to take them a long time to catch up.

But it won’t last forever. Liverpool dominated then became also rans. We are seeing the same with United now.

i dont think fans can complain about influx of foreign money at this late stage, its not as if top flight football has suddenly gone all corporate overnight.

If not now then when though? 'it's been happening for a long time' isn't really a solution or an excuse.

So far fans have seen the money as good, improved match day experience for example. It's also been somewhat spread around via TV money. The elite clubs though are starting to really pull away from the pack in a very noticeable way; so that the questions gets asked how does football remain fun and competitive for those fans who happen not to support one of the top 6 teams?

Is getting to a cup final vs a City team entertaining or worthwhile anymore when you know its highly likely you'll lose and lose in a potentially humiliating scoreline?

They should be winning 6-0 with the amount of money they have. It wasn’t a competition so for me wasn’t that entertaining. A bit like an end of season dead rubber.

On the one hand would love to see us in an FA Cup final.

On the other hand if Watford's experience today is what we have to look forward to when we get there I get why SD doesn't really prioritize a cup run over PL survival :-(

I said watching Burnley as a neutral is sh*t just as loads of people on here criticise the standard of football wathching teams like Brighton, Huddersfield, Southampton and Cardiff.

Id rather watch Burnley play over City always cos Burnley matters to me so the game is interesting no matter the quality.

My point was for those saying its the death of football and awful then just think what our football looks like to non Burnley fans cos watching City today is far more enjoyable and entertaining than our hoofball

Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U have probably each spent more than City over the last two or more windows.

I'm sure they've still enjoyed their cup run, particularly their win in the semi against Wolves. Scratching around near the bottom of the Prem will get boring very quickly for us without the excitement of the odd cup run!

Fair point.

Still, must be a bit of a kick in the whatsits when you've put so much effort in only to be in the game for 10 minutes then be totally blown away in the final.

What's all this business about Jesus or Sterling goal and VAR not sure, blah, blah, blah?

Are they saying that there is no goaline technology at Wembley? Surely, that is the easiest decision to confirm?

Looked like it was over the line but the centre of the sphere not over - like they take corners. Sterling hattrick?
Is it because he is not acceptable, to fill Stan Mortenson's boots? Shame on football, if so.

City have had less net spend in 18/19, than the others. In the last 5 years, they’ve spent £80m more than Man U. More than double that of Arsenal or Chelsea, nearly treble what Liverpool have and almost 20 times more thank Tottingham who lovingly hoofed them out the champions league this year.

So you were slightly correct but in the wider context of the discussion, massively wrong.

cant agree with that, I get exactly what you mean but to isolate one single club and then deride their success is unfair, we all know what this division is about for the elite. But united have untold wealth and have done for years, chelsea with the russian millions and so it goes on. whilst they can assemble sides with high quality stars, most fans want their teams in this league however imbalanced it is, otherwise there would be a fans boycott saying enough is enough.

Really? pretty sure I read Man United have spent more on signings since Pep took over City, give Dyche the same money as Pep and we won't see football anywhere near as good as City. Liverpool have spent a ton too, Chelsea the first to do it. Immense coaching and recruitment from Pep really.
