More than double that of Arsenal or Chelsea, nearly treble what Liverpool have and almost 20 times more thank Tottingham who lovingly hoofed them out the champions league this year.

So you were slightly correct but in the wider context of the discussion, massively wrong.

Funny how you said ''in the last 5 years'' to prove your point

Nah, Bastards first to do it, but agree about Pep and City's planned success.

Because that is the point. This year is the only year they haven’t blown everyone out of the water with their spending. Go back two, three four years and it’s the same story.

In terms of your point on Pep, he’s outspent United (£301m) by over 27% or £80m (£383m). The others haven’t even spent half that.

Hollow championships are bought and that’s why no one (other than city fans) can realistically respect what City have done. They’re effectively playing championship manager with a cheat code.

Here’s a question - how many times have you heard supporters or clubs say we’d like to follow Burnley, Stoke’s(when they were in the division) or anyone else’s approach to becoming established in the PL.

How many have said they will look to follow Man City’s, of dropping lucky with the backing of a country?

Having created the original post, I kind of wanted Citeh to win (for my bet if nothing else) but did they really have to HUMILIATE Watford?

The look on Kompany's face (was it after the 4th goal?) said it all... HARSH !

Even Pep appeared to be a little embarrassed at the way Citeh kept tearing away at a dead corpse!

No wonder football is losing its appeal. That was not a contest in the sense of two teams having a "chance". It was a boxing match with one boxer on the ropes for most of the game and no one prepared to step in and stop the one on the floor being punched even more senseless!

SAD really!

I would guess that 'Burnley's anti-football' would not be necessary if there was more equality in the Premier League.

Chelsea have done the exact same thing, but they did it more than 5 years ago so it doesn't count, i've never heard anyone say they want to follow Burnley's model tbh. You say ''the others haven't even spent half of that'' since Pep walked in but you're forgetting the others had spent fortunes before Pep came here. Pep is genius, world class coaching, you can have all the money in the world, takes a world class manager to use the money wisely and build a side like Pep has, you only have to look at the players he inherited (Sterling, De Bruyne, Silva, Fernandinho) and how he's turned them into world beaters. I don't think Pep has bought ready made superstars (like PSG/Real Madrid do) he's bought younger players like Laporte, Mendy, Sane, Jesus and turned them into superstars, again, shows the level of coach he is.

Nonsense, we played anti football in the Championship when we were one of the biggest spenders with one of the highest wage bills in the league, you don't need world class superstars to play football on the deck, Swansea used to play some great stuff (with Leon Britton in midfield) when they first got up and stayed up for a long while until a mess at the top and lack of investment saw them decline. Look at us under Coyle, not even a fraction of the finance Dyche has to work with, (Hendrick is likely worth more than the entire 09/10 side cost to assemble) we still knocked it about nicely. Finance has nothing to do with Dyche sides wellying it back to front, it's what Dyche wants and works on.

Go look at Chelsea before Roman, they won trophies because of the Russian investment. Bastards even won a PL title.... Man United were spending heavily with Fergie, not the same figures Pep is, but the market has inflated massively since, when Fergie was manager, no player cost more than £70M apart from Ronaldo, now every player is seemingly worth £50m+.

Look at United since Fergie left, a shed load of cash spent, wasted and numerous managers fired. Has Pep made a terrible signing yet apart from Bravo? I also don't think he's done what PSG/Madrid/Barca do, he hasn't gone and signed Mbappe's, Hazard's, Neymars etc. He's tried to create his own world beaters with coaching. Every top side in world football relies heavily on investment and spending a ton on players, it's just the way modern day football is.

So you were wrong in saying the others spent fortunes before Pep arrived?

Bastards and Chelsea apart, they all spent the money they generated, city rely on financial doping just to satisfy FFP. Better still, for all the money he’s spent he finished 1 point ahead of Klopp’s Liverpool and still can’t manage a Champions league success, which one of the others will be doing in a few weeks.

Klopp is manager of the season for managing to keep up with City at a fraction of the cost, with equally entertaining football and probably a CL winners medal to come.

Interesting you use Bravo as example of a bad signing. Must be nice to spaff £17m on a dud keeper, then happily be given another £40m to throw at it for a replacement the next year.

Ralph, are you suggesting city should have kept the score down just to be respectful of their opponents? surely not.

This is why Dyche plays about with the cup to win it you have to be a top 6 side now gone are the days where Wigan Wimbledon had a chance
For all its worth i wouldn't say no to appearing in a final
But Dyche knows his capability's

We don't play anti-football! We play to our ability. Just because some big teams don't like the way we play against them, tough. UTC

The way it's been pictured you'd have thought Man City won the league with ease.

As for the Champions league....

I suspect the owners won't like it one bit, especially if Liverpool win on 1st June.
