Re: Is women’s football winning you over?
Its not meant to win anyone over but is there for those who have an interest and enjoy it. The BBC show a lot of non mainstream sports that dont appeal to the masses and this is one of the great things around having a national broadcaster that doesnt need to just focus on the commercial side of their programming
Womens football has a decent worldwide following and it can only be a good thing that it encourages more grass roots football and more opportunities for young girls to play football, get outdoor exercise and be involved in team activities. Whether some 50 or 60 something blokes like it is neither here or there so like any other TV program id you dont like it then just dont watch

Why would anyone want to watch ladies football on TV or live with all the male games we have at different levels.

The same reason some football fans will watch football from anywhere across the world if its on TV, even if they've no connection to the league being shown.Top Claret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 11:38 amNever watched it.

If it's on TV people will watch it.

Women's cricket has its points. Not so much bish-bash-bosh and hardly any fast bowlers aiming for the batsmen.
Football, not so good. It's just a slower version of men's football. I can't see it as a different sport; it's the same sport, played (through no fault of their own) less well. If there was less men's football about I dare say I would watch women's football, but as I can regularly (in normal circumstances!) watch Burnley, Accrinton Stanley and Colne live, plus all the Premier League TV games, I don't need the women's game.
Good luck to all who play and watch, though. I wouldn't use funds generated by the men to subsidise the women to the extent that they do; but fine, if that's what they want.
