Interesting article or not?

Post by Ashingtonclaret46 » Tue May 21, 2019 2:38 pm

I found this quite interesting and it could be relevant from a Clarets point of view

Yes. Interesting. If you get recruitment wrong you're shagged but "Talented = Workshy" is a stereotype that doesn't always hold true. Like this guy and his teammates.

So it still comes down to getting the right sorts in. Saido Berahino never ever looked like the right sort.

It is and it adds to the weight behind us continuing on our current path. We need to evolve slowly which we can only do with managerial stability.

I have been waiting for the right time to post this about Hughes last pre-season at Stoke

Whilst that is pretty shocking. Johnson being a senior player at Stoke should at least have said something.

That wouldn’t happen here but if it did, the likes of Heaton, Mee, Barnes, Bardsley wouldn’t put up with that.

I have a Stoke supporting mate who hates Mark Hughes with a passion.
The sad thing is the problem seems to have been obvious to everyone, but nobody took responsibility to sort it out.
Roden could see it, Johnson could see it, my mate could see it. Butland said something along the same lines after their last match of the season.
That said I doubt very much if we would make the same mistakes. Our due diligence into a players character, as well as ability, bears fruit that isn't always obvious.

This was a good one as well.

Hughes could be the nicest bloke in the world, but as a manager he has damaged most if not all of the teams that he has been associated with. Obviously, he received a lot of help from his travelling coterie of equally inept cronies ( who have had their own share of failures in subsequent individual projects ), but every circus needs a ring leader.

The article in the first post just reads the club failed because they listened to other people instead of me.
