Post by Longsider » Tue May 21, 2019 6:15 pm

Probably already mentioned but rumour sites saying we are interested in a loan deal. Would he get much game time Infront of Lowton and Bardsley?

I did a search and couldn't find anything about mobile homes. I did however find a quote . " He has three first names and no first touch"

I suppose he has a choice. Does he want to sit on Everton’s bench and play in their under 23’s or does he want to play in our under 23’s?

After Nathanial Chalobah and Jon Flanagan I’ll be surprised if anybody wants to come here on loan. It takes Dyche 12 months to trust players.

This only makes sense if it's a loan with an option to buy after 12 months. If he works out, then we'll have our replacement for Phil Bardsley when his contract ends.

Let's hope he's better than the last Scouse fullback we had on loan...

Probably the most uninspiring rumour so far. We need to strengthen other positions before RB.

Won’t get game time here. Under the current regime, and with the current policy, any club would be absolutely mental to send a player here. Not a complaint, merely an observation.

Our squad players can't even get on the pitch
Wells Vydra Gibson then past loanes Georges-Kévin Nkoudou, Nathanial Chalobah,
Jon Flanagan
We need players that can drop straight in and loanes aren't the answer

Should I have heard of him?

His name rings a bell, as it's a touch unique however I wouldn't be able to say I've noticed him, seen him play or know his style.

What does he bring to the table?
Is he a good up and coming young player?
An xciting attacking full back type player like Trippier?
One for the future?
Taylor esc that's a good rep at a lower division who can be developed into a good player?

I'm genuinely intrigued to who he is, what he has done, where hes been and what he offers.

From what I can see we sign players on loan, something we don’t do often, as cover or with a view to signing permanently as was the case with Keane.

It's the pinch of salt rumour mill, so it could be nonsense, but discussing rumours is the big thing for this time of year.

I find it a bit hard to believe that our recruitment team sat down, looked at the pressing need for a left back, a central midfielder and an attacker. And then decided we should go after a right back on loan. We probably won't have to pay a loan fee, but we will have to pay his wages.

Is a new right back an urgent necessity? No

Will signing him on loan improve our chances of signing him on a permanent in the future?

If he comes here and he doesn't play it probably won't improve our chances of signing him at a later date and it will re-enforce the idea that players who come to us will struggle for game time.

If he plays and he isn't good enough we won't want to buy him at a later date.

If he plays and he is good enough his value will sky rocket and we will pay more for him based on the playing time he received. Or more likely he will attract the attention of multiple clubs and eventually sign for someone else.

An option to buy price would probably be quite hefty and it doesn't guarantee a sale if the player isn't up for it.

Even if he was a good player it wouldn't automatically light up the lights for an immediate move. We could do our cause just as much good by letting him gather dust on the Everton reserve bench if they bring in a new right back during this window.

He is reasonably young and he plays in a position we may need to fill next year, but that also applies to a lot of other players. I mentioned Patrick Burner who is available on a free transfer weeks ago. I think he is a better player and we could add him permanently for a similar sum, providing he wants to join us of course.

I can see Jonjoe being an easy signing to make. However, justifying his wages, for what could amount to a season of bench sitting, and allocating him one of our limited first team shirt numbers is a tough call.

If the idea is to replace Ward on the left with Bardsley and have Jonjoe as an emergency backup that would weaken us. Bardsley has played on the left side before, but he is far more experienced on the right.

Nope, apart from it being a transfer that might appeal to Everton and be easy to get over the line as a consequence of that, I'm struggling to see why it has popped up on the rumour mill radar. It seems to make very little sense from our perspective.

If we have our heart set on a domestic bench sitter who isn't go to play that much then we might as well sign Luca Connell from Bolton as a left back or the Scottish lad from KIlly. I'm not buying into the idea that Rangers are a more attractive destination than us.

Wouldn't make any sense whatsoever but after some of our recent transfer dealings i.e Crouch don't think anything would surprise me anymore.

Possibly because one isn't quite good enough and the other is knocking on a bit.

But surely we can't afford to carry 3 right backs in our squad, all on good money? Maybe we're going to start stockpiling right backs instead of goalkeepers.
