The making of Dwight McNeil

Post by Chester Perry » Wed May 22, 2019 11:49 am

Article from Training Ground Guru following on from the podcast they did on the Academy

the article mentions this particular line up and it's uniqueness in the PL last season

Next season will be a massive season for Dwight. I hope we all don't expect too much from him. I would be happy to see a good, solid development from him under Sean's guidance.

I'd be happy with him repeating what he's done so far for us in 2019, but being able to last longer in the game before tiring.

A great season for Dwight, but wonder if he would have been given that same chance if all our experienced wide men had been fit at the start of the season (instead of all on the treatment table)
Hoping to see more younger talent brought into the first team this summer, instead of the likes of Crouch

Probably wouldn’t have got the chance. Thankfully he did. He took his opportunity when presented as did Pope before him. Offered us far more as a wide man than either Brady or Lennon would have done even if fit imo.

Needs to work on his body language too! And I wonder if the club might be tempted by bids for him

Why would anyone be bothered about body language. If anything I quite like it if a player can look tired or disinterested and then suddenly burst into life. Catches the opposition off guard.

I doubt we’d listen unless a completely ludicrous bid comes in.

People have mentioned Waddle similarities, that's definitely one.
