Civic Parade 2009
Civic Parade 2009
I've been looking through my pictures from Wembley 2009 and the Civic Reception, and thought it might be a good time to post some from
the bus parade. It maybe some on here will be able to spot themselves.

Re: Civic Parade 2009
On the 5th picture showing the players I wondered who the two little boys were next to Clarke, I then realised it was Wade Elliot and Alan McMahon, oh and how much of a little boy (his face) does Jay look just behind Kalvanes.

Along with pretending to be a gypsy and making a topless “I’m not scared of no man” video on YouTube

Got quite a few pictures from that day. Like the subliminal messages though.

Speaking of Sheffield clarets, is there anyone still left. My son is in Uni in Sheffield and would be interested in Mee like minded clarets.

Re: Civic Parade 2009
Sure is, andyh.
A bit changed since previously, as lots of them were at uni, some of us still live there!
We try to get to a few away games, and some of us are at all home matches, too.
We even remember the flag from time to time!
Well done for getting a pic, the guys were asked to take it down shortly after - too big, apparently.
That same season, it was spotted on the championship goals programme, and was mentioned in the summariser's comments; "I hink that's what you call a Transpennine Oxymoron", he said!
Anyway, get your lad to email me: whentheballmoves@hotmail.com or drop me a line on Twitter: @BurnleyFanzine
Cheers!

Re: Civic Parade 2009
I have a question about open top buses.
Do the bus companies keep one just in case the local team wins something? That appears to be a local one (assuming Transdev didn't win the playoffs in 2009).
Do they just take the top of a normal one?
What do they do with it for the rest of the time?

Wait you've never taken the open top bus tour of Burnley's most famous landmarks?Foulthrow wrote:I have a question about open top buses.

Re: Civic Parade 2009
I didn't get to the Civic Parade as I was flyin to Spain at 6am the morning after Wembley. More or less straight home pack a case and off to Liverpool still a bit tipsy. I was accused of being a glory hunter by security on seeing my shirt. (Probably the first Burnley fan ever to do so.)
It looked amazing on Sky Sports watching from Benalmedena. I wished I had delayed my flight a day after seeing it.
