Brilliant first 2 episodes
Stephen Graham is as good as anyone out there at the moment - he’s incredible in this.
For anybody who hasn’t watched it I would highly recommend you do but word of warning it’s f’in emotionally exhausting watching it !

About to put the second episode on. Stephen Graham is fantastic. He has the knack of playing likeable characters who draw you in but are on the edge of doing something explosive. He's always totally believable as well - great actor.

Graham is quality but Shane Meadows is the star behind this pretty much all his work is outstanding. Anyone who likes this but hasnt seen Dead Man's Shoes needs to check it out

I saw the episode last night having not seen episode 1 (though I've read reviews of that). I thought the acting by him and his sister (character) was first class. I'm looking forward to the development of the story.
I first noticed Stephen Graham in the Boardwalk Empire box-set which I thought was generally very good (certainly earlier on it was though it diluted later on as these series tend to do). He played the Al Capone character in that and I watched it all the way through assuming he was an American actor. At the end of the box-set discs they had some interviews with the actors & only then realized hew was a scouser.
His part in the recent Line of Duty was also excellently played.

And remember, he has extreme dyslexia. His wife reads all of his scripts and decides which parts he should go for . It’s a team effort.

Boardwalk Empire was brilliant - except the final series which was one season too long.
Stephen Graham was good in it - it was a great gig for him to be in such a big show.
Dead Man Shoes was on a couple of weeks ago - seem it a few times now and it’s a dark dark film but very good.

I think it was Stephen Graham who was in a film I watched when he played the part of a Jamaican drug dealer

Thought his Jamaican put on accent was awful and yes laughable

I think Meadows has reached new heights with this.
Peerless film-making. Not watched anything so emotionally engaging in along time.

Yeah, I`m sure that one of the most respected British actors in a generation gives a f**k about what you think about an accent that he based on his Jamaican grandfather. Obviously you will know how it should have sounded more than him

Brilliant last extended episode.
One of the best things on TV for ages.
Link for a interview with Shane Meadows - warning it’s pretty dark.

Also saw that Stephen Graham is filming in Burnley at Queen Street Mill

SG certainly very watchable actor . I remember him yrs back in the Artic Monkeys vids . He was also in a cracking little low key thing a couple of years back about a cctv operator who takes a bag of drugs/cash from some dealers ,very good .

Got to this finally and binge-watched the first 3 episodes last night. Can only echo the positive comments. Stephen Graham’s performance is one of the best I’ve ever seen and the whole cast are tremendous. Totally absorbing and believable ...as my son said this morning “ It’s like they filmed real people”. Episode 1 in particular is magnificent.
I know there are others, notably Mike Leigh, who go for a “real life” style of directing but Shane Meadows is the King.
Looking forward.... if that’s the right expression... to watching the finale now so glad no spoilers on here.

Joseph sister was sublime in this, her effing and jeffing was acting at it's best.
