Oh dear ! Oh Dear ! The Remainers are besides themselves in believing they had a combined higher vote than Leave parties. However something very important has been missed when using such simplistic analysis. Ponder this the EU elections are based on proportional representation but our General Election is based on a "first past the post" system. If our General Election vote followed the same party votes as recorded in the EU elections would result in only a very small handful of extra Lib Dems seats, some losses for Labour in the North and the Midlands and the Brexit Party winning some all over the country outside of the major cities.

The total votes for Remain supporting parties were highly skewed towards them in London where the Brexit Party only scored just under 20% of the vote. London had one of if not the absolute highest turn-out figures, an area already massively Remain. Sadly for Remainers London does not have a massive number of MP's most of which are Remain MP's anyway. In nearly all the Regions outside London, Scotland (again Remain) and N.Ireland the Brexit party scored nearly twice as much as their nearest rivals. Which ever way you look at it, with the Conservatives likely to deselect Remain supporting MP's, the Brexit party scoring heavily and the fact that 65% of constituencies in a General Election voted Leave then the Leavers will still hold an even stronger upper hand after the next General Election. Labour are in a complete mess as they completely lied at the last election with their promise to Leave not only the EU but also The Customs Union and a Single Market. It seems they are still trying to pretend they are all things to all people which is clearly failing and the Lib Dems are still a toxic brand except with desperate Remainers who are trying to stop Brexit starting from a position of around a dozen MP's which is not likely to increase much. Leaving the EU seems more certain now especially if Peterborough is won by the Brexit Party.

Looks like a slight hiccup for Farage

https://twitter.com/JamesCrisp6/status/ ... 98758?s=19" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

He has been given 24 hours to come to Brussels and explain himself over 450k pounds of allegedly undeclared gift from Arron Banks or face being banned from the European Parliament.

Obviously some (posters on this thread have said that they don't care who gives Farage money so long as Brexit happens) will view this as picking on him but given his previous offences and what seems a pretty egregious flouting of the rules it's hardly surprising.
