Party may be new to the scene but Farage certainly isn’t. More’s the pity....
They had a lot of easy votes to attract from disillusioned Brexiteers and have barely improved on his UKIP days.
This is based on the poll only obviously, they could easily have done much better considering the absolute polling shitshow from the last GE.

Farage was saying earlier that he thought the Brexit Party would get 35%. That would be an amazing result.

The BP will be weakest in London and Scotland which might drag their UK % down, but even in those regions they should eclipse the UKIP vote from 2014,it's important that they poll above 30% for psychological reasons,if they do and break 5 million votes they will have had a good night.TonbridgeClaret wrote:Farage was saying earlier that he thought the Brexit Party would get 35%. Lib Dems are sounding bullish on social media, and they could well beat Labour into 2nd,Tories doing slightly better than the doom mongers predicted, but i never thought they would poll 7% in a nationwide election, they should get around 10% which will be enough for a seat in most regions.

Re: European Election Results .. due from 10 p.m. Sunday night...,
At the end of the day it's basically one "no compromise" brexit party v the rest, so if you want a "no deal" brexit then you vote for Brexit Party. (Pretty simple really)Rowls wrote:Winning an election by 12-14% only 6 weeks after setting up the party would be 'disappointing'?
I think it's amazing.
Farage's party had a very simple uncomplicated message, and being new had no "broken promises" or "bad history". In similar circumstances Macron actually gained power in France.
Anything less than 33% on a (38% ?) turnout will be pretty poor tbh compared to the 17 million + who voted "leave" in 2016, and it will hopefully make any MPs considering switching to "no deal" think again.
Looks like Confirmatory Vote Parties, (Libs, Greens, Labour, SNP, Plaid etc) won't be far short of 50%. [This pretty much mirrors the numbers of MPs in the commons (280) who supported this in indicative votes]

If the 'confirmatory vote' parties lose their 'confirmatory' vote will they demand another 'confirmatory' vote ?

Yes, I spotted that too. Depending on which poll you believe, anywhere between 26% and 35% of Labour voters wanted Brexit.randomclaret2 wrote:Labour is a ' confirmatory vote ' party ? Really ?

That's not much of a surprise and was forecast. As in the UK, there are a lot of other parties that stand on a broadly pro-EU platform, whilst Le Pen's Party are distinctly eurosceptic.Right_winger wrote:Rumours have it in France that Le Pen has beaten Macron.
It's predicted that she will get about 24% to Macron's 22%, so a long way from sending a majority of MEPs to the Parliament

That would mean between 65% and 74% don't.TonbridgeClaret wrote:Yes, I spotted that too. Depending on which poll you believe, anywhere between 26% and 35% of Labour voters wanted Brexit.
I'm not an expert on this, but that does suggest its less Brexity than your average party.

Well that's their policy yes. It was agreed at Party Conference and Corbyn confirmed it in his interview with Andrew Marr last week. This, I think, is why Labour appear to have held the Lib Dems at bay, (relatively speaking).randomclaret2 wrote:Labour is a ' confirmatory vote ' party ? Really ?
In case you missed it:
"Labour leader Corbyn went further than before in his support for a second referendum, saying the public should get a confirmatory vote on his party’s own Brexit deal, not just May’s. He told BBC’s Andrew Marr show that it would be reasonable to put any Brexit deal to a vote.
“If we can get that through Parliament -- the proposals we’ve put -- then I think it would be reasonable to have a public vote to decide on that in the future,” Corbyn said.

So basically between 2/3rds and 3/4s don't want to leave, and a larger majority of actual members. I thought the Greens would of done a bit better.
There's still some who will vote for Labour or the Tories so 52% is fantasy land.
40% would be amazing for a new party.

It's going to be useless whatever happens. Brexit could win or do well but turnout will be patchy and not necessarily indicative. Some will say this is what we deserve for constantly demeaning EU elections. It's still likely that the overall result will be Definitely Out 30-35%, Definitely Remain 30-35%, No-one knows / Depends who's asking 30-35%.
Brilliant. That helps.

The Greens polling well Europe wide, but given the climate change crisis this isn't unexpected, whether they'll gain enough support to increase their seats in the UK is open to question, rises the argument that the remain vote will be fragmented, and this could cost them seats.Lancasterclaret wrote:Be interesting to see if any of the channels can take their head out of Farages arse long enough to notice the surges of support for Lib Dems and Greens.

And its worth mentioning btw
The Brexit Party are the new UKIP, they are not up 40%, they are up about 4% on UKIPs vote.
Compare that to the surges for the Greens and Lib Dems, and you know where a hell of a lot of Conservative and Lab votes have gone.

Lib Dem getting a lot of Labours usual vote.
