Alan Moore article revealing suicide attempts

Post by Quickenthetempo » Sun May 26, 2019 12:55 pm

Certainly a marmite player for the fans but the article explains his injury problems.
A mate of mine used to walk off the ground everytime he came on as sub. But a brilliant player on his day and unplayable while trying to earn a contract with us.

Good article. This jumped out, as Wigan's opposition analyst:

'He brings up West Brom’s Jay Rodriguez as the best player in the division. “The smartest by a distance, he has a first touch very few defenders can deal with.”'

That’s what I call a quick change of subject.

I liked the bit where the reporter walked around Elland Rd and the away fans give him some stick, so he returned it.

Just something random that adds to articles.

yeh good read but..
David Sneyd spends a weekend with the former Ireland international and his family in their Yorkshire home.
...we set off on the 15-minute journey towards the small, picturesque village of Gisburn where they live. It is enveloped by hills and a sense of calm.
Gisburn is in Lancashire

That season under Ternent when we went to the top of the league, Little and Moore were almost unstoppable going forward.
Shame injuries came when they did.

Different era and level, but kind of like Defour for any younger fans out there.

Good read. You never know what players are going through in their private lives. For the fans, it's all about what happens on the pitch.

Was great at times. Sure he scored a great goal at logyus road v fulham. But may have dreamt that. Think Malbranque did for them so may have been that one?

Remember him being outstanding at millwall away. Him on one wing little on other was great.

Apologies for the name error in the title. Spell checker on this phone does more harm than good.

Changed it now.

An obvious talent, but hopelessly unfulfilled in so many ways and that's a very, vert familiar story tbh. Lacked something, somewhere and it could well have been the "mental" rather than the ability side of things. The Treacy of his day.

He was unstoppable at Deepdale when we won 2-3 (a superbly exciting game) and his magnificent attempt from 40 yards or so that hit the bar only for Ian Moore to head the rebound straight at the keeper.

Bit harsh comparing him to Treacy, Moore had a really solid career before his injury troubles. Treacy never had the desire, two completely different situations.
