Re: Derby vs Villa
Super Frank got his tactics completely wrong, learned nothing from the Leeds game. When they had to be brave they were very good, far too negative today until it was too late

Re: Derby vs Villa
Lampard fancying himself as a tactician starting Marriott on the bench ffs. What an idiot.

Re: Derby vs Villa
Squeaky bum stuff from Villa that last 15/20 minutes!
They just completely lost focus.
Must be really bad being a Rams fan though.
Nearly Boys yet again.

Apart from that last 15 mins or so, Derby were poor.

I’d agree with that. They just gave it a go when they had to.ElectroClaret wrote:Apart from that last 15 mins or so, Derby were poor.

Re: Derby vs Villa
Bad result for Burnley as a fair chance Villa will do better than us next season whereas Derby would have been propping up the table with Sheff Utd.

Villa already have a stronger squad than us and a few other teams, fortunately they’ll be spending big and that doesn’t always work

Both team were shite.Derbys keeper at fault for both goals.
Re: Derby vs Villa
Always enjoyed going to Villa Park, proper old school ground. Pride Park on the other hand could be any of the newer, identikit grounds.

We even got a glimpse of the elusive Lansbury.

Must be me then but I would’ve thought these players would walk straight into our squadjoey13 wrote:Villa have a stronger squad than us , have a word with yourself
El Ghazi
Jedinak
Kodjia
Hourihane
Kalinic
Grealish
McGinn
Abraham
Hutton
Chester
Bjarnasson
And Lansbury would go straight in of course

Villa have flouted the FFP and will now get off with a derisory fine. Such is life.

28 Kevin Long
29 Nick Pope

Barring the last two names on that, every single outfield player listed would improve Aston Villa. Even Peter Crouch. Even Nahki Wells.

I think we'll be in the bottom 6 (I predict we'll come 16th) and with the team they've got and the funds they are likely to have if they buy well there's a fair chance they could come around 13th or 14th.South West Claret. wrote:On what basis?
My point was more around Derby being weak and as we will IMO be battling just above the relegation zone the more weak teams like Fulham, Cardiff and Huddersfield there is the more comfortable we will be in surviving again

Re: Derby vs Villa
Only saw the 2nd half and neither team looked up to much. Villa have the better squad by far and will more than likely push the boat out. Villas biggest question mark is their manager who lacks experience and could be well out of his depth in the Premier league

Re: Derby vs Villa
I think cost cutting is going to seriously effect Derby’s chances, next season. The interview with Mel Morris, before the match, was quite interesting. I get the impression that today’s match was ****-or-bust for them.

Like on a 5 year deal for Bryson to prevent us from signing him. That was money well spent, wasnt it?Top Claret wrote:About time they reigned the spending in, they have blown a fortune over the years and got nowhere

Even Lampard made some comments along those lines earlier this week. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lampard as Chelsea manager come the start of next season, with Sarri going back to Italy.Lord Beamish wrote:I think cost cutting is going to seriously effect Derby’s chances, next season. He was out with fans getting ****** yesterday celebrating. At least he will be able to tell his grandkids he never played in the PL but could have done. He can count his cash instead but they won’t be bothered about that.Lord Beamish wrote:Like on a 5 year deal for Bryson to prevent us from signing him. That was money well spent, wasnt it?

The Transfer window isn’t even open and yet you predict that we will finish in the bottom 6 Bit premature isn’t it?Devils_Advocate wrote:I think we'll be in the bottom 6 (I predict we'll come 16th) and with the team they've got and the funds they are likely to have if they buy well there's a fair chance they could come around 13th or 14th.

Re: Derby vs Villa
Not really, you can make a prediction at anytime. Surely one of the things forums like this are for is for people to give their opinions on things.South West Claret. wrote:The Transfer window isn’t even open and yet you predict that we will finish in the bottom 6 Bit premature isn’t it?
I think we'll continue with our prudent and cautious approach to the transfer window and rely on Dyche's man management, tactical and motivational skills to keep us safe rather then making massive improvements to our personal.
If we signed 3 or 4 players I thought would improve the first 11 my opinion would potentially change and I would have a new prediction.
Not sure why youre so intent on questioning my comment as it wasnt really that controversial
