I always wondered why similar trains never got repeated? When we set off at 6am on the coach I was extremely jealous of the fans on the train who were setting off after 9.Herts Clarets wrote:I was on a train with Colne Clarets, a certain Mr Beecroft was involved in that. We had massive delays due to engineering works, so I had to leg it from the station to the stadium. I got to my seat as the national anthem was finishing, however my then father in law arrived later and missed the Stockport goal. He couldn't believe when I said we were one down until he looked at the scoreboard.
The train journey home was particularly enjoyable.....
We did get there before 12 though.

For some reason that Boro match seems much more recent in my mind than the Wembley match.ClaretTony wrote:Just the promotion season. This is the 94/95 away kit, we turned out in it at Middlesbrough and that was the first time it was revealed, a bit like the white one at Aberdeen last season.

Indeed. I went up to Boro for that match and it was clear right away that not only was Robinson a poor signing, but also that it was going to be a long hard season. Something of a wake up call after the high of Wembley!!!Wokingclaret wrote:Boro match

I was on the CC train too. Even though train was dry, I was confident that the early departure would give plenty of time for a few drinks. All I recall of the journey down was sat on a stationary train for hours and the dash to the stadium. We ended up running about three quarters of the way round as well because the police wouldn’t let us take the short routes the turnstiles.Herts Clarets wrote:I was on a train with Colne Clarets, a certain Mr Beecroft was involved in that. Still, it was a great day.

Maybe I should’ve said “meant to be dry”
